Nice!! You have the rake on the rear spoiler set way too high

The Lotus Elise is not a very practical car, but it could probably be considered the most practical motorcycle ever made!

Wow, that is a really cool shot! You guys autox right up against some curbs! Down here, we would have a lot of people hit that curb, and at least two Corvettes would hit that light pole just off the lot

why they have the track setup next to a curb and light pole?

** save ~10 lbs gain 1 hp ** EQ: Y=(190*X) / (1984-X) where Y is (HP) and X is (lbs)

That video is just painful to watch... for one thing, he looks so slow, right up to the point where he stomps on it and loses control.

Not even a red flag for the car still running the course!

Sometimes it is just better to walk away from an event.

tight course

We used to race in the hockey rink parking lot but the local cops in all their wisdom decided to put a stop to it as they felt we were going to fast and drawing to large of a crowd.
I think they figured we would start racing on the streets instead, that way it would be easier to make their monthly quota
The local chev dealer stepped up and offered his lot a couple times a year, they moved about 50 or 60 cars off the lot for us
Two years ago we found a new home out at the airport, 10 acres of bare asphalt
Wow what a change.
But once a year the chev dealer invites us back.
Great for me and a friend with a mini
Its a lot of fun and I think its good advertising for the dealership.
There has only been one crash.... very similar to the video above, a vett clipped a curb with the back wheel,
And one close call this weekend, the same vett that hit the curb two years ago lost his fill plug for the diff and oiled down a part of the track, I was up next, I hit the oil, spun the car sliding towards a light post
All in all its a great place to race

No way would I ever race in that parking lot. I've seen quite a few cars hit curbs/walls/trees that were far off the racing line. The curb is the outside of your racing line. NO WAY.

Lol
The idea is to NOT hit anything.
If you spend your time lookin at the cones or curb....
YOU WILL !!!! Hit them
But this is coming from someone who is most likely insane ;-) and I very very rarely hit a cone.
I realize its not for everyone....but if your choice is this or the streets.
This wins every time.

AND YOU SHOULD KEEP GOING BACK.

Some years ago, we had a number of lots we used around the Twin Cities. Then our local Council made a great deal with a horse-race track to use their overflow lot. 380 x 1100 feet, with room to paddock elsewhere. Everybody loved it. I warned repeatedly that we needed to have one event a year at each of our current venues, but nobody would listen. We ran exclusively at the horse track for several years.

One day the horse track made a deal with a major car manufacturer to store light trucks on the lot. They reneged on their agreement with us and left us lotless in mid-season.

We called up the places we use to use and they all said "Who?". None of them opened up to us again, as all the people who knew us had moved on.

We still have a shortage of sites here.

Oh, the horse track? We go back there for a couple of events a year, at a daily price 5 times the deal we used to have.

Is that the entrance from the road that you're passing? The sCCA would never allow that layout. Looks like it's asking for trouble.
