Motor mounts?

Hey all - I want to replace my motor mounts, at least front & rear.

Lotusgarage has them, but ouch - ~$270 each. Anyone know a better place to get them?

Figured I'd post here because most of us will understand what "stock" or "street" category means and we won't have to have the discussion about how it should be allowed and I should get delri-thane haggisbushings or no one would know or or or.....

I need/want stock motormounts - anyone know a better solution than LG? I like lotusgarage, but damn, that's expensive.

Mine are not torn yet, but they feel icky to me. Figured they'd be ~$100 or so, sure, why not.

$5xx reasons why not!

Thoughts?

I have my stock rear with ~28k miles on it - not sure if you are interested in used or not. You could also check with Lotus specific performance shops (BOE, Sector111, etc) to see if they have any low mileage stocks for sale from someone whom upgraded. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in the rear one I have.

Well, there's My Lotus Garage but they're about the same...

BOE and Sector111 sells upgraded engine mounts.
They remove some of the 'slop' in the engine so you will feel a bit more vibration, but overall it improves shifting and driveability. They cost quite a lot less, too.

Mount inserts are also popular, but I don't think you're looking for those.

Stock mounts are crap. Most likely they're already cracked/broken. Front and rear mounts are all you need IMHO. Makes a very nice/noticeable difference.

He's stock on OEM mounts for race classing reasons. The other options won't be legal for him.

Thanks, all!

Stock - yes - no inserts, nothing fancy, stock. San, thanks for confirming/supporting my suspicion. Just ordered front and rear, ouch.

FMUScotty - mylotusgarage was ~$60 cheaper than LG. I'll take it, thanks! I just hate paying real money for a piece of stamped steel and a dumb isolation mount. bah. Oh well.

Thanks again for all the help!

They are crap all the time whether they are new or not. I'm sorry you have to stay with them. They are absolutley the reason I learned how to left foot brake. I was simply trying to keep the motor preloaded so that it wouldn't flop fore and aft while trimming throttle in long sweepers. yuck.

Does this mean you're running stock class, and therfore need to be legal there?

Been a while since I looked at class rules, and excuse me if this comes across as a dumb question, but are inserts allowed there? I was always surprised by some things allowed in stock, but not street and vice versa.

I think I only ever did one season in stock. Once I figured out that strut bars put me in street, I never looked back.

Otherwise +1 for asking aftermarket guys for take-offs, or posting WTB here.

Yup, stock (now "Street") category, so mounts have to be stock. bah. I'd love it if we could have inserts, but alas, no.

Ordered some from MyLotusGarage.com this morning, ouch, but...ahh oh well. Cheaper than a supercharger.
