Thanks guys! It was a labor of love. I leaned a lot in the process and will probably be making sets later on. It's so fun.

Gunpilot, (it's Bobby right?), I have this girlfriend now and I'm trying to curb my enthusiasm for auto-x somewhat. I can't be racing EVERY weekend. ha ha ha

She doesn't want to drive. I took her for a run on the practice course on the Wilmington concrete and she got scared. She doesn't like roller coasters either. It's not for everybody but she's very cool and even goes with me when I go out of town for multi-day events. Very supportive but I need to set aside weekends to travel and do random fun things too.

Very very nice ... for what it's worth, CO is the color I originally wanted, but none were available at the time I bought. Not that I dislike mine, but I have to say... That looks awesome!

That looks awesome, I saw pics from your car (similar shots) this past weekend. My friend was there running his beast of an Xa.

Side note, I'm in the process of signing up for a local SCCA practice day (I usually run with a smaller local club) and because I have an 06 exige that has an aftermarket S/C it automatically puts me in SSM!? If I was interested in running SCCA full time it would be pointless to run against you and similar cars!

yep, you're in SSM with that modification. Them's the breaks. Obviously, the rules are written to foster good competition and typically, by the time you are interested in winning on the national level, you have aligned your car's modifications with the class that best suits your needs.

It's certainly the exception that somebody accidentally begins auto-xing with a car that is well suited for the class it's legal for and on the local level, even a mildly prepared car like your could take the class... unless you live in Atlanta

SSM is the softest pax you can ever run with aftermarket S/C... but you are XP unless you weigh at least 2140lbs... (which requires ballast).

But for local events sometimes these things are (or are not) more flexible... local rules etc... and non-scca events often lump you with xp anyway if full race cars such as XP are even allowed.

It was just a shock considering a there is a local S240 with a tune (and other mods) that is running SSP aaand then I see cars like yours! I'll just putt around in the background with my 210whp car and open diff. The local group I run with just adds a handicap based on HP, weight, and tires. Everything else is free, there are no classes everyone vs. everyone. With R comps I can finish within the top 10, but with RS3, Star specs, ect I'm usually somewhere around 15-25 depending on course location/design.

but back on topic

FWIW, If his tune changes boost he would be in SSM. The issue is that the stock S/C are very mild compared to what *can* be done with an aftermarket S/C... there are folks getting 350+ whp out of the BOE setup.

Rules for SCCA are also meant to avoid things like needing to find a dyno shop to settle a protest, and the attendant environmental and shop to shop variations for dyno plots etc...

Can't he be in SSP if it's an MP62 supercharger?

The stock supercharger in exiges before 2012 is an Mp-62 IIRC, so if he's running that in an exige with no changes to boost or pulleys etc, then he's not running an aftermarket S/C, and yes SSP.

To run SSP with an MP-62 in a car that started out as an elise, one has to treat it as an option conversion, and add in a bunch of other bits that differ between elise/exige (though not everything I think, but probably cheaper to buy an exige in the first place...) There's a big (old) thread on this already ...
