Equipe Rapide's event for Feb 26th has been moved to INSIDE Homestead track. I just registered. Never been there before so I don't know if this is a good thing or not.

Sounds like a good thing... I won't be making it, as my car is out of commission until early March at best

Homestead Autocross

Hey Trevor,
Nice to see you be back on the cone circuit.

I'll be there Sunday. Registration was super slow last month. I hope they bring more computers for sign up.

I pre-registered so hopefully if it is slow that will help. Would have been there last time but had the oil change fiasco with stripping bolts.

NASA Moroso Event (last weekend)

I ran my first track event this weekend. I ran six 20 min. sessions over 2 days.

Lots of fun, I highly recommend tracking your car.

Here's a picture with MitchT on my butt.

JC,

that camera was slowing you down, not to mention the air flow problem from your mellon, I had a good time, glad you got on the track to see what the car is all about.

I got Black flagged on every session for one thing or another. Session 4 was a black flag for my helmet above the bar. I ran session 5 and 6 with the soft top on.

I like the open face for autocross but I may have to get full face for track. I know there's some new debate open vs. full face.

Jim

do not feel bad, getting the black flag thing out of the way early is good, the steward now knows you and will keep an eye on you to make sure you are safe and know the rules. I got black flaged too for an altercation with a 911 twin turbo, I lost a bit of session time but what the f-ck. Your in the game now, it only gets better.

Had a few issues being checked out. Primarily, the clutch. It's up at PBMC right now. I met with Mike Fischer from LCUSA today. He says the clutch is ok for a while... so I'll be going to the next autocross event, if everything ELSE works out.

Next "ER" Autocross

Sunday March 19th.

Note the change of venue.

It's been moved to Steve's favorite place...... Hialeah Horse Track.

I hope I can remember how to get there. No joke, I had a heck of a time
finding it last time.

From 826 go east on 74th street. When you see the park on your left turn left.

Transio, was your clutch slipping? I had mine slip a few times so now I try to be more careful with it, but I've wondered if that's normal or not.

It's not slipping, just engaging late. If your clutch is slipping, it means it's about ready to go.

Mine's not slipping all the time, only when starting out hard.

Remember this event is in Hialeah now.

To run everyone apparently is required to Pre-Register online.

http://autox.carlc.com

Or because the stupid thing wouldn't keep me logged in you can register at...

Ugh... now here's my issue. The last event I went to, they failed me on tech-inspection, and said they'd let me run next time, but not to pre-register online for the next event...

Watch, I'll go out there Sunday and they'll be filled up with pre-registrations. That, or spend another $35...

What would you do?

I got double billed in December for an ER event. I pre-regsistered with drivers regs and they billed me twice. I contacted "ER" and they promised credit for the next event. I never got it. Tried to collect a couple of times, no luck.

Pre-registration is the only way to go. Waiting in line for an hour (or longer) really sucks.

I'm definitely going this Sunday. I have to collect my first place trophy from the last event. Thanks again Trevor for hitting that cone.
