Hey guys, sorry I missed it. Had to visit mom in the hospital. Anyhow, it seems I wouldn't have been in any condition to drive with my foot. I'll see you guys next time.

We almost had 5 Elises out there. Sorry you didn't make it Steve.
I'm really kinda of glad. I was slow on the course. I had Fred nipping at my heels. Fred's second autocross. I must be a slow learner. I would hate to be last on the time sheets.

Here's another picture with Dave and his pit crew.

Jim,

I wouldn't call 2 seconds nipping at the heels but thanks for the encouragement anyways. I just didn't feel like letting the Elise get loose on me (again!). Next time I'll see if "itchy" could drive my car and give me some pointers as I could see that I was braking and coastig way too much but I still had fun.
When is the next event? Steve, we missed you there!

Jim ---great pictures thanks-----

Event was a blast----very impressed with the Elise.
Totally different from my ASP vette.
The Elise is more fun to drive on the street, a Vette isn't street legal, and even if it was.

Fred---you might want to go out to Ft Myers, as they have a pretty good novice school on Saturday, before the race day on Sunday.
gulfcoastautocrossers.com

On the Saturday practice day---I think May 6 or 7. I will be there. I could run your car once with you in the passenger seat, so you can feel the difference if you want, and then I could be in the passenger seat, giving you feedback if you like.

Jim---did riding with me once last month make you any quicker ?
Because I think you did pretty good, on Neovas----
I had 4 seconds on you but I have been very activily doing this for 5 years, and I think my A6's helped.

I know there was 1.5 seconds for me in the Elise, now I just have to try and find them, and get my head out of my ass.

Damn this crap is fun !

Dave,
I may try going to Ft. Myers, my brother in law is always calling me but I never go. Too damn far to go for a few autox runs and running Saturday and Sunday makes for a very tricky proposition at home with the wife and Baby.
See you at the next one in Hialeah!

Like the ssrs and good choice with the gunmetal, I did not know tire rack had them in that color again. How about those tires, I am think about the r6 a differant compound, than the A6, what is the difference between this series and the old ones, ? last longer and have better grip. Price is similar, and tire rack say special order. No sh-ving or heat cycling ?

A ride with Dave is worth paying for. Adult undergarments may be required.
I definitely gained more respect for the Elise. I thought we were going to spin- out 10 different times. Dave was able to get the rear way out and still move forward. That last sentence looks a little weird in print.

Fred...You definitely want to check out the Sat. Ft Myers school. The cost is $20.00. I got 11 runs. I was actually tired of driving and let someone else take a couple of runs.

Mitch has good advice on auto-crossing. Just stick with it, one day the light will pop on. Or something to that effect.

Fred---all due respect it's only 2 hours max to Ft Myers---
no traffic on sat or sun----
come out sat as you will get instruction at the novice school and 3 to 4 timed runs in the pm---probably like 12 or so runs---lots of fun
the drive over is a joke---very easy----
suck it up go Sat
I used to think Ft Myers was far as hell--
California is far as hell
Ft Myers is close as crap

Mitch ----R6 for track -----A6 auto x
You could probably do autox on R6 and let the tires do double duty--
But don't drive far, long, or hard on them on the street

Look at the gulfcoastautocrossers.com web site, and all your questions will be answered.

Only sad thing is that I can't run the vette there as it is over the sound limit by a db or 2. BTW the Elise is 10 times louder in the car, so loud in fact that for any drive over 10 or 15 min, that I put in ear plugs

Be careful with the ear plugs you can get dependant on them, they work particularly well when your lady starts with the honey due list,( ask you to do something that is a pita), I did not hear you, I was driving the car and I must of forgot to remove my ear plug, dear, but I will get right too it after I dial in my sway bar.

Dave, I'll try to make it to Ft. Myers next time, thanks for the encouragement. I actually just found out that there is going to be an Evolution I school this Sunday in Ft. Pierce so I think I'm going to sign up for this one.

I ran Homestead this weekend. Lots of fun, I'm officially hooked.

I'm glad I gave road racing a few tries ( thanks MitchT )before I formed a final opinion.

Look for the upcoming name change for Homestead Miami . I own that track.

Here' a picture.

I just passed those 2 cars......not.

NtflBlueLiz Fred is being bashfull He came to the Phase 1 Evo school and was app. 6 sec faster at the end of day . Come to Ft Myers Fred and you and Namhel and The Black GT3 can battle it out in SS.

Those of you who didn't attend the Evo school in Ft Pierce missed one of the best schools I have attended.

Peter,
That was going to be my surprise for the gang but even with that I'm still nowhere near David or you, got get a lot faster before I can even consider battling it out with you guys. Too bad I can't go to Fort myers this weekend but I'll try to make it to the next local event.

How do you register for Fort Meyers and how far in advance is it required? I'm hoping to graduate my IAF course this weekend and might be able to make it.
