Tablet mount for Solostorm

I recently picked up a license of Solostorm, a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 and a GoPro 4 to get a bit more serious about run-to-run comparisons.

How are other people mounting tablets/phones? I've seen suction mounts to the passenger side of the windshield, but not much else.

Here's the mount configuration I came up with:

The center two AC vents were replaced by 3D printed "blank" vent bezels with tapped holes for an aluminum cross bar. The Proclip tablet mount (w/o swivel base) fastens to the cross bar.

With the tablet in place

RLS Phone Mount | Really Light Stuff with a 3D printed cradle for my Dell tablet.

The RLS mount is pretty clever. With a bit of effort you could probably 3D print a clone in ABS or Nylon (PLA would crack since it's a clamp fit).

It just snaps into the seams in the dash and is surprisingly strong.

Velcro tape on the back of the tablet case, stuck it to the passenger side sill. Within easy reach, and my co-driver and I can easily review when back in the grid.

I considered the side sills as another option. If the vent mounting doesn't work well, I'll likely give that location a try.

I copied Pat's velcro-sill solution, I like it a lot. I have velcro on both sides - if I'm running an event alone, I can look at it right there, two people, it is easy to compare, one person in d-seat, one at p-door.
