|mikelr||If you want to buy a trailer, it's hard to beat a closed deck aluminum Featherlite for transporting. They are light and can be pulled by virtually any tow vehicle.|

I have U-Haul as a backup. I would prefer to buy a trailer since I need one anyway.

I would buy a trailer in Texas and sell it when you get to Cali. I have been looking for a flatbed trailer that could be used for hauling my Eilise (and other things). The downside is negligible.
I just bought one that would have been good for what you are talking about, but found it didn't meet my needs so I sold it 3 days later and made a profit of several hundred dollars. I think there is s picture on the thread I started a few weeks ago. For one or two times, loading and unloading it would have been fine, but it was a little too high for regular use. Good suspension for a trip like yours though.

If it is for a one way move, try Penske. It should be free, because most of their trailers are moving out of California to Texas.

Towing TX to CA, need trailer ...
I want to trail my Exige from DFW area to SF Bay Area next (this) week. Does anyone have ideas? I have an SUV able to tow 5,000lb.
I am willing to buy/borrow/rent a trailer.
