steuspeed A few mods and you got it.

Butters I'll say that I don't really like the splitter in the middle of the front intakes, but if Lotus say they are functional, then I suppose I'll take their word for it. Having said that, I like how Porche put signals in their "stabilizers".

Perhaps someone will mod some LED running lights into those? If they do, they will have stolen MY IDEA! Ha!

wallabyguy Very functional

MTribe Anyone know definitively how functional the wing is on the Exige?

One could say the same thing for the original Exige wing. The debates about wings on performance cars will probably never end and unfortunately teenagers and 20 somethings have taken this functional item and turned it into the signature element of the "ricer".

Vishus_1 I said it before and I'll say it again...it is just awful. Seeing this really compelled me to go ahead and get a 2009 since I knew it would be last of the design I like.

If the other thread is correct that we will see a new Elise by 2011; why would Lotus mess this up and invest in the retooling for just two years?

Bane Front is a bit odd looking... the nose is too "stubby" to sport that look versus the longer Porsche slant in my opinion

TRD Celica wing =

They should have just gone all out and added an APR style functional wing.

that thing is hideous! what are they thinking? anyone have any interior shots?
The interior is, for the most part, the same with te exception of the wall inbetween the passanger cabin and the engine compartment.

Me! Ick....I hate the new design. Unfortunately for Lotus, it seems I will have to buy a used exige someday (when I'm out of college) because the older ones are so much better looking. The rear wing looks so like something that belongs on a civic and the front looks too contrived.

ding I love exige GT3

MTribe Funny, I thought Porsche intake as soon as I saw it.

IMO, the front intakes no longer use the same design vocabulary as the rest of the car. The radiator exhaust on the top of the clam needs to be more angular.

For example: glance quickly back and forth at the front scoops and the radiator exhaust on the top of the front clam

The angle of the headlights, which was previously in harmony with the "smile" of the front intakes now looks to be at an odd angle.

I think it's really difficult to change elements of a well-styled car without changing the whole thing. Surprised they did that.

rsch [QUOTE=Franzino;1233706]Ooo No... What a shame! I really don't like the 2010 Exige... When I saw The Exige (second generation) for the first time; it was love at first sight. That day I said “one day I will have one”. The 2010 model doesn’t do it for me! The biggest problem is the really ugly rear wing and the front is a problem also. It doesn't match the design of the car and doesn't look right at all. The Front has a little Porsche look and the rear wing to much aftermarket tuning look. Opening the trunk with that wing will be a fun adventure

+1 and performance figures are worse than a 220ps model
I'm really disappointed!

The old Exige spoiler was really unique.

Vishus_1 I don't want to call it hideous since there is so much of the current model still unchanged in the 2010 design. But what has changed has botched the lines of the car and is not cohesive.

Some of Lotus's design changes recently have been peculiar. The Exige 260's odd stripes, the 2010 Exiges front end and tall spoiler on a car with the same width, the added spoiler on the Elise SC, the odd painted pieces on the California Elise. It is like they are intentionally corrupting the purity of the design for changes sake. Pretty bad execution.

I much prefer this new design over the GT3. The double spines over the vents on the GT3 were nice, but everything else about the front end looks off to me. This new design uses the elements of the GT3 design but in a much more cohesive grouping to my eye.

The rear spoiler is fine, and I'm sure that the super spoiler crowd will like it, though I always liked the "old" Exige rear spoiler.

Sorry. You said "splitters" so I though you were talking about the bit we all usually refer to as a splitter.
