wa6rxm I ultimately bought a full pre-formed kit for the driver's side door from JAE for around $100 - it fit perfectly. Had to take back the NAPA stuff. It initially looked similar, but when I compared it to the original it was not quite the same shape.

wa6rxm I bought a roll of the NAPA door seal material, but upon closer inspection it was not the correct shape - subsequently I bought the correct material from JAE. About $100 for one side.

Door Seal

Try MacGregor in Toronto - they sell BristalFlex and other rubber seals. You can reach them at (877) 777-6381. I've used them and been very happy with their products - no financial interest, just a satisfied customer.

Door Seal material.

Is there a ready source for the door seal (rubber) molding for the earlier (1991) Esprits?

It LOOKS like it MIGHT be a common size and type available at NAPA, Auto Zone, and the like, but maybe not.

I have seen it advertized in one of the British Lotus Parts web sites, but it was very expensive, they wanted to sell me TWO COMPLETE sets for driver and passenger doors, and the time delay/shipping would be a factor, too.

I only need about four (4) feet to replace the driver's lower side which gets a lot of use when entering and exiting the car.
