You should do this first: https://www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.do...3012017_v3.pdf
I got mine here: Airbag Switches
The sales guy was helpful and tried to find a plug and play connector but in the end, I had to spice. I put the light in the cubby tray, technically it should be mounted up high, but I didn't want to deal with that...

|gabylonfive||bringing this way back from the dead - looks like this original kit may be NLA but does anyone know of a comparable kit available elsewhere? Looking to install an airbag disable switch in my 05 Elise.|

Did you buy and install the airbag switch you posted about back in 2013. I'm thinking of buying and installing one and was wondering how it worked out?

Does anyone have a schematic or understanding of how the wiring is to be done? I was assuming one would install a switch in series with the ground but looking at that price and complexity in the universal jobs I stand to be wrong. There are plenty of key switches for $5 that would work but I need to know how it needs to be wired. Also I see a resister is needed to trick the air bag light. I'd personally rather know if its off but are there drawbacks that are not immediately clear?
ok this is a start
Lots of good cautionary reading there. Also looks like a simple double pull key switch with led indicator is all it takes. Switching to off would simply put a 2ohm resistor across the two airbag lines and unplug it from the airbag. I'm not sure what color ( looks like grey and black form previous images here ) would carry the + voltage for an LED. I could check that with a meter ( not a continuity check !!! ) to be sure. I wish I had a spare airbag laying around to play with. Hate to get awarded a Darwin metal for it.
More of this is in the interest of understanding. Trying it will not be a good suggestion. What I may end up doing is buying a spare switch for airbag shuts off off ebay and examine it. If this is truly all that it takes, then any airbag cut off should work. I have seen them for $15 on ebay.

Look on page 2 - there's your source - unfortunately says it's unavailable.
My guess would be call or email Electronix Online and see if they are getting anymore.
I googled and found this:

Okay...so I did this and have a problem.
First of all, it is a PITA. There is very little access and the yellow wire is very short. Getting the little clamps around the wires and on securely is very difficult. It doesn't help to take the airbag cover off. The wires are not accessible from the front because there is a riveted plastic piece that surrounds the airbag. I got it all installed and everything was fine until I turned the switch to the 'on' position. Then the airbag light came on.
I took it to Rob at Dietsch Werks (who was great, as usual) and he hooked it up to the scanner and we determined that there was indeed a problem with the airbag when the switch was on. I figured I must have screwed something up, so I took the car home and double checked that everything wired correctly. It was, but then I noticed that the airbag connector comes out very easily. I think I must have screwed it up when I was disconnecting it to pull out the yellow wire. Then I noticed that the connector has a locking mechanism--this little flappy strap that inserts into the top. Well, I didn't pull that little strap when I yanked the connector off. Does anyone have any experience with this connector? Did I screw up the connector or the airbag? Ideas?

Quick question for those who have done this. Is it significantly easier to do this by pulling the airbag cover off rather than trying to do everything from the access panel? It seems like is should be, but I can't tell from the pictures.

I just installed mine yesterday, 11" pliers are a must!
Childrens seat installs fine using a mity tite car seat tightener
I could not figure out how to disconnet the wire from the air bag so I did the wiring with it plugged in. PITA until I got longer pliers!
I got power for the LED from the wiper motor fuse in the Interior fuse block.
