  1. Bringing an Exige S back from the dead -- (re)build thread

    Lotus Exige
Wow, I have a tear in my eye from my baby being torn apart. :( I hope she goes all back together again! I'm surprised the camshaft was *seized* but that would explain the sheared bolt. :( If it were me, I'd probably just replace the bits which were obviously worn and go from there, though...
  2. Bringing an Exige S back from the dead -- (re)build thread

    Lotus Exige
This will be fun to watch! If you get it back to working condition and end up wanting to sell it again, let me know, I might buy it back off of ya. Good luck and remember to add lightness! :)
  3. DDM HID kit install for Elise/Exige

    Lighting
I don't remember running into that problem on an 07 Exige when I installed HIDs. It is possible they have changed the bulbs in the many years since or the headlamp casing was different after 2006. However, it looks like it might not be too difficult for you to grind out a relief for that nub?

    The Salvage Yard
Car is sold along with all the parts and accessories.
  5. Wrecked my Exige after 10 days

    Lotus Exige
Don't know if it will help you in negotiations, but my insurance gave me $50k ACV.

Note that I have tried to negotiate the price down, but the insurance company states that the policies here in WA state preclude them from negotiating the price at this point. So $12,400 will have to stand.

Its kinda funny because I had just put new tires on this car - previously I was running a different set. It wasn't really intended to be driven any more, just sold to someone who wanted it. Doubly-ironically, I have another set of wheels with winter-appropriate tires on them sitting in the...

    The Salvage Yard
On general principle I can't do that - I feel like I am already making out like a bandit since they are offering me more than I expected to get at sale (and more than my original asking price.) Also my insurance company has never treated me badly or tried to under-provide on a claim. :)

Just an update on this - there is one member who I am working with right now who expressed the earliest interest in the vehicle. We are currently working through the details. If for some reason that falls through, I'll go back through in date order for everyone who expressed an interest (here...
  10. 2007 Lotus Exigs S w/BOE Rev300 Supercharger - $49900

    Lotus Cars For Sale
The Rev300 doesn't require intercooling. The Rev400 is a straightforward upgrade to the 300 which adds intercooling and I think changes the pulley. Cheap once you have the 300 though you do want to look at rebuilding the bottom end for strength.
  11. 2007 Lotus Exigs S w/BOE Rev300 Supercharger - $49900

    Lotus Cars For Sale
No, this is a 2007 S with the factory SC system entiorely replaced by the BoE Revolution 300 TVS supercharger. It puts down substantially more HP than the stock S or the Exige 260.

Here are pictures of the front suspension and the damaged crash structure. The service center says there is no sign of chassis or suspension damage.

    The Salvage Yard
Yeah, I think it is entirely coincidental, because the motor was running at the time the car was involved in the accident and even for a while afterward until it was pulled off to the side of the road and stopped. Note the car *could not have been running* if it was damaged at the time of the...

My plan is to get it to someone else on the forum who wants an otherwise well-sorted car that just needs a bit of care. :)

Ok, went to the shop and took a look and chatted with the service manager there. Here's the deal: 1. Oil cooler did need to be replaced 2. Front clam will obviously need some work (see pics) 3. The service manager doesn't think the frame is damaged, just the crash structure if anything. The...

The A048s. I hadn't swapped on my winter tires yet as it happened - that might have made the difference. Alas...

Well, before I sign over the papers, I'll be sure to go have a closer look myself with the Lotus tech there, since he's the one who made the diagnosis. If I had to guess, what he means is the subframe which is not included in the tub part of the bonded superstructure. Whether it is formally...

    The Salvage Yard
Yeah there are a couple things like that I'll pull off the car and sell - and I have some other bits lying around as well. I'll formally put all those up once we have determined the final disposition of the car.

I'm waiting to hear back from the insurance company about the buyback details. They've already given me the "fair market value" listing, but it's not clear to me yet how that relates to what they would pay out. I'll give you guys all the details once I get them and go from there. If nothing...
