  1. Stacking Elise and Europa

    Garage Majal
Anyone have experience stacking cars in a garage? My sense is that I do not have enough vertical room, because of the garage door, but I thought I would ask. What is the minimum height required, and what device wastes the least vertical space?
  2. Elise vs Europa

    General Discussion (Lotus related)
I've been seeing a number of restored Europas on Bring A Trailer recently. I own an Elise, and love it. Can anyone compare the Elise experience to the Europa experience?
  3. Battery Response to Cold Weather

    Lotus Elise
I know that there have been threads about installing a magnetically attached tender at the top of the Elise license plate, but I cannot find the threads on the new web site. I did this, and it works great!
  4. 111key - New Product Coming Soon!

    InoKinetic
I have to say that I agree. I would not want to have to carry two objects when I can just carry one.
  5. 111key - New Product Coming Soon!

    InoKinetic
@shinoo: the key looks really pretty! Am I correct in believing that this approach would not work for a stock Elise, because I need to press the immobilizer button every time I start the car. As to milling marks, have you considered putting the keys in a vibratory tumbler before the key...
  6. Elise turn indicators?

    General Discussion (Lotus related)
As I recounted in another thread, allowing a vendor to take your money and then wait over 120 days eliminates your ability to dispute a credit card charge. Not saying that this vendor is unreasonable, but others have been.

What a New Owner Needs to Know(LRC)
I assume that the baffled oil pan issue has been discussed in the past...
  8. Stupid front turn signal flies out - AGAIN

    Lotus Elise
I can print in nylon, but I might suggest a more rubbery material called NinjaFlex (TPU). I could print one of each material and you could decide how you wanted the others printed. $5 apiece plus $5 postate.
  9. Stupid front turn signal flies out - AGAIN

    Lotus Elise
I can print these out of a variety of materials, if anyone needs them.
  10. TransForged

    Dealers/Aftermarket Suppliers Feedback
I just got out of a long and difficult situation with TransForged.com. Here are the facts: On 12/5/2018, I ordered a Carbon Fiber Mirror Set and a V2 Mirror Mount Set from TransForged.com, for a total of $780. I was told that it typically takes 6-8 weeks to fulfill the order. On 3/27/2019...
  11. Preferred purchase method?

    Other
Wire transfer is quick and certain. Another option is to hire a third party (an attorney or car dealership) to hold the funds until the physical transfer of the car is complete, but they usually want to charge a fee for their trouble.
  12. Foot getting caught between brake pedal and center con.

    Lotus Elise
Note that I've NEVER had a problem with my foot and the center divider; my problems were hitting the brake pedal intentionally and the accelerator by accident.
  13. Foot getting caught between brake pedal and center con.

    Lotus Elise
I bought driving shoes just to use with the Elise; they made a huge difference.

    Lotus Cars For Sale
I had hoped for mid to high 30s also, for the past year, but I was too optimistic I guess. And, yes, you are correct that the BaT buyer's fee is 5%: my mistake. I must have mistaken the fee from other auction sites that I am considering for other non-car stuff.
  15. BaT claims another victim

    Lotus Elise
I just had a good experience on BaT. After trying to sell my 2010 Evora NA for a year, I finally managed to sell it on BaT. What an interesting ride! We were at $20K about an hour before the end of the auction. Then the fun started. At one point, bids were coming in at about 3 a minute. The...

The Evora at auction on Bring A Trailer What an interesting ride! We were at $20K about an hour before the end of the auction. Then the fun started. At one point, bids were coming in at about 3 a minute. The auction was going to close in about 12 seconds when another bid was made, extending...
  17. MWR Lift Point Kit/Nifty Lifty Kit--First Time Lift for an Oil Change!

    Lotus Elise
@knac1234: I built some step up ramps out of 2 layers of 3/4" plywood that I stuff in the trunk when I take the car to a shop. Driving the car up on the little ramps is enough to get the lift arms under the car, at least for the shop I go to. I also know a shop that made these and just keeps...

I purchased the MWR lift points, and they work wonderfully: the perfect addition for any Elise!
