Ok, lets find out. The word is that orders for the first batch of Elise must be in by the 10th of Jan or else you will not get your car on time if you are 1 - 10 on the list. I assume this would also delay all subsequent orders.

The clock is ticking... Has your dealer called you yet?
I have heard nothing yet, however I'm sure my dealer is a good guy, but what's up with this?

Has Lotus forgotten about some of their dealers? He doesn't even have the order guide yet:confused:

Please post also what dealer you are with.

Yes, my dealer (Overseas Motors in Dallas) has contacted me and I have given them my order information. In fact, I have changed my colors from my original order. That color decision is tough.

I know there are some in the top 9 that they have not been able to reach. It would suck to be in the top 9 and miss the window because you couldn't be reached. Then you would have to take what they ordered or wait for the next batch, I guess.

Lotus Motorsports/New England is contacting their first deposit-holders. Let's see, 1 demo, 1 each for the salesmen, that leaves the first 6 on the list to be contacted.

Any word from anyone at Silicon Valley Auto Group? How many have been contacted? Any word on the size of the first delivery?

I'm especially interested in what their final allocation numbers will be. Back in November, they thought they would get about 70-100 cars this year.

I called my dealer (Symbolic) yesterday, was told that I'm #14 (I think that's the merged list - they have two locations, San Diego and Los Angeles), and that they will be taking orders later this month. They said they'd call for my order "before the end of the month".

Steve- I know of two guys ahead of us on the board that have placed there order. With one demo car I'm #12, missed the first cut. My understanding is final allocation haven't been set by Lotus yet. SVAG is expecting 6-8 cars amonth, should be offical in the next month or so.

I called in there last Wednesday (31st Dec). My sales guy said they should be contacting the first batch of customers (10?) this week. I can't get a clear answer as to what number I am. The best I got was "you are in the top 15". So I'm guessing I'm not in the first batch.

He said they expected to be allocated 75 cars this year and they already have about 100 deposits. He also said that first deliveries could be in March  but I didn't believe him. :(

There is no reason for the dealer to be secretive or ambiguous about your number unless he's afraid you'll hold him to it later. The Oliver Stone in me makes me wonder if your dealer will hold the initial batch and sell 'em to the gold chain set that only recently found out about the car. I can see one of them now standing in front of the owner of the dealership impatiently tapping his swollen wallet against the palm of his other hand, wondering aloud why he bothered buying those 5 prior high five figure vehicles from the "disloyal band of thieves".

Tell him/her that you want you're number- at least it's some comfort. I don't know what I'd do it I did'nt know mine.:)

I'm curious, how many are ordering cars/colors sight unseen? The car is not as big a dilemma for me as are unseen colors.
