The original orderer was under the impression he could get the car registered under dubious methods to make it streetable. He realized this was impractical.

There are two advantages with being at the back. Tail end cars benefit from production line practice and on-the-fly development. Serial numbers matter to collectors. Should our 2-Eleven ever become a sought after car the near end-of-production serial number will command more value.
The obvious negative is, you will wait longer on this car than earlier serial numbers. But if you have not ordered, you are dependent on market forces.
