States here that the car has an elise engine, though on spyder it claims to have only the valve cover, also, who tuned it, and what is the actual hp?

It has a 2zz-ge engine, i tried to keep it easy for people who may not know engines by their code off hand. If you read further into the description, you will see the engine code listed on spyder chat, no where does it say in only has the valve cover. Although it does have the valve cover among many, many other things. I tuned the car myself, the Hydra is currently street tuned, not sure of the exact numbers, perviously when the car had an A'pexi Power FC for engine management, the car made 306 whp.

For added clarity, here is a quote of the exact listing on spyderchat as far as engine/ performance specs goes:

Engine:
-2ZZ-GE 25k miles @ time of install, another 15k on it now, so roughly 40k total miles on it
-Cryoed Lift Bolts
-Sealed off EGR ports
-Elise valve cover
-630cc injectors
-MWR/Moroso Oil pan w/ custom heat sinks

Tranny:
-C60 6-speed out of the same car as the motor (25k miles prior to install +15k since install= roughly 40k total miles)
-LR's custom shifter shaft

Clutch:
-Spec Stage II, ****comes with a spare Fidanza 6 puck sprung hub, but the spec clutch is holding perfectly still.

Header and Exhaust
-Custom MWR Tubular SS manifold
-Garrett GT28RS turbo
-ATP SS turbo exhaust outlet 3 inch V-Band adapter
-2.5 inch turbo back SS exhaust (V-Band) w/ no cat, 1 muffler
-custom manifold bracing to block
-exhaust wrap from downpipe to exhaust tip

Intake:
-greddy Arinix

Engine Management, Gauges, and other Electronics:
-Hydra Nemesis stand alone
-paralle harness w/ oem dummy ecu running various creature comforts and gauges
-Hydra Autotune package
-Greddy Profec Type S electronic boost controller
-Defi Tach
-Defi Boost Gauge
-Defi Control Unit II
-Innovate Wideband w/ Gauge
-Blitz FATT DC2 turbo timer

Other Engine/Performance related:
-Snow Performance stage 2 methanol inj (175 nozzle) running 50% meth, 50% H2O. (with progressive MAP controller)
-Aeroquip turbo coolent lines and fittings
-MWR 190LPH fuel pump
-HKS SSQV
-IRC Fabrication Air to Water intercooler
-IRC Fabrication Front mount bar and plate heat exchanger
-IRC fabrication 3 gallon overflow tank for A2W mounted just infront of frunk and behind radiator
-Shurflow 2.8GPM diaphragm pump for Air to Water IC
-Goodyear water lines for Air to Water
-NGK BKR7E sparkplugs
-Kirks motor mount inserts
-B&M Shortshifter
-Cusco catch can
-ATP gt series oil inlet feed restrictor and 4-an feed line
-2ZZ-GE 25k miles @ time of install, another 15k on it now, so roughly 40k total miles on it
-Cryoed Lift Bolts
-Sealed off EGR ports
-Elise valve cover
-630cc injectors

This section of your posting makes it sounds like it is your factory motor, built up with an Elise valve cover on it. Maybe it has other parts as well, but your thread title on here makes it sound like you pulled a motor out of an Elise and put it in your car. Either way it doesn't make a difference since they are the same thing. It just doesn't make you look good. People here know the motor code.

Good luck with the sale.

Cheers,

Brian

See, your not that educated on the motor codes, the stock spyder motor and the stock elise motor are not the same engine at all. My car has a motor swap. The spyder came w/ a 1ZZ-FE motor, not a 2ZZ-GE. I guess i need to be more literal and detailed, thought my mod list was detailed enough.

I knew your original engine code and ours, I guess what I meant to say was, why did you put an elise valve cover on?
well your buddy dosent.....

as to why I put an elise valve cover on the engine, when I acquired the motor, it did not have a coil cover, so naturally I wanted one on there to keep water/dirt away from the coils, and also make the engine compartment look complete. Any other OEM 2ZZ-GE cover would display the lettering up-side-down (except for the Exige), also not a look that I find very appealing/ complete.

Need any other modification justified? Just ask, the build was very thought out.

I apologize, I did not word my first post to well.

You are missing the point though. You posted Elise motor. Someone asked about it. You mentioned it not stating it only had the valve cover. Did you pull the motor from the Elise? The Elise motor is the same motor as used in some Toyota applications. We all know the 2zz engine here so there is no need to make your car sound more exotic by labeling it as having "an Elise motor".

And yes they did use a 1zz-fe motor in an Elise. It's called the Elise S. But an uneducated person wouldn't know that. ;)

Good luck with the sale.

didn't word your post well.... hahaha! buddy, you made a completely false and absurd statement! take another look......

does a 2ZZ-GE sound like my factory motor? Sorry, I'm still not following here.....

If you can do me a quick favor and take a look at the rules of this forum:

I'm done w/ this discussion, sorry if you don't like how I worded my post, but obviously you could use a little help on semantics yourself.
I may be wrong but I don't think questions directly to the seller about the car are discussion. That said, your car is very badass looking - love the setup.
Maybe I'm wrong, but do you see a question anywhere in his entire post?

and thanks!:D

Yeah, since I don't know much about this particular part; though your post says "Hydra Nemesis stand alone" and also "Hydra Autotune package".. is that some sort of "pre-programming" or? And are you technically running a piggybank ecu, or is it an actual standalone?
it is an actual stand alone. The factory ecu does not have any control over the engine. It is not pre programmed, but has an integrated wideband O2 sensor, and then you put in target AFR's in the grid @ X PSI/VAC and Y RPM and then it dials in the injector pulse width to reach these target AFR's. pretty nice tool :)
Did you pull the motor from the Elise?
There is your question. You were unclear sir. If you choose not to answer then consider this a free bump.
I also get annoyed when people post "car model" engines.. :)
