I've just had my rear clam replaced after someone bumped between 5-10mph, the work has been completed, but when I viewed the work it looked like it had just had the bumper and the section around the lights replaced!

The finish on the rest of the clam looks like my old paint and my rear arch had a slight blister in it, where the fibreglass had moister in it, it is still there. and there is pin holes in sections too!

Does anyone know if you can get this section only? The car has been left until I speak to the boss Monday! As you can imagine this was an expensive job, I didn't think this would happen at a lotus specialist!

Advice?

I don't know much about the 2003 Elise, but looking at an internet picture. My question is, what bumper? It looks like the rear clam is all one piece like the rest of ours. So my guess... if you're thinking there are several parts in the back -they did a poor job. I'm looking at a similar situation where someone bumped me at even slower and the solution I'm debating right now is fiberglass repair specialist followed by repainting the entire rear clam.

So I guess Monday, you should come in ready to fight?

Yes mine is the same shape, I didn't know if they did a repair section for the back panel and bumper? The paint work had spider web marks as if it was years old, something that made me look further as I expect perfect fresh paint on the clam. Hopefully the manager will be able to explain tomorrow.

Today has been a very good day, after a weekend of thinking the worst, it had a new clam, just the finisher had made a crap job. A day with the bodyshop and there is not scratches, no marks in the paint. Perfect! Summer here we come!
