This beautiful Elise does have a Florida “Rebuilt” title because of light fiberglass damage which has been professionally repaired. NO FRAME DAMAGE.
As many of you already know, the Elise & Exige were exempt from FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE STANDARDS for bumpers.
Most insurance companies are very quick to declare an Elise or Exige a “total” loss where there is damage to both the front and rear body clam shells. They are very expensive to replace with new parts from Lotus. There was no chassis damage to this Lotus. We have repaired over 25 Lotus Elises and Exiges, from "salvage" to "rebuilt", with excellent results. It is no problem to license and insure cars with "rebuilt" titles, but it is difficult to obtain financing. The only bank that we have found who will consider a loan for these cars is USAA Bank. You will usually save from $5,000-$8,000 over a comparable "clean" titled Elise or Exige.
