Just joined the Lotus Club and added a 2005 Elise to my collection of “small cars”.
- 1969 MGB
- 1983 Citroen 2CV
- 2005 Lotus Elise
It is my second English 2 seater convertible. The Lotus is not my lightest car, the 2CV is lighter, not quite the same power to weight ratio with 605cm3 39 HP engine.
This forum has been a great learning resource and helped me determine what I wanted. HARTZ was helpful in allowing me to sit in his Elise, confirming that I fit in it.
I was initially set on getting a blue 2006 Elise. I settled on the more subtle gray color with Storm Titanium being my favorite. Then an automotive interior designer friend of mine recommended the red interior.
Buying from Hayes at Wire wheels was a great experience. Bought the car sight unseen. Wire Wheels has a good reputation on this forum and I felt comfortable buying the car sight unseen. Hayes was very helpful, answered all my questions, changed the wheels to black and organized ground transportation.
Here are the list of work and changes I am contemplating
- New Bluetooth radio and speakers
- Duplicate Key and FOB
- Remove sun visors
The car has been to Auto Europe in Birmingham today for the Oil Line and ECM recalls. Ready to drive and enjoy Lotus Ownership!
