18K Miles, says cluster went out, but dealer could not retrieve actual mileage. Hammer on wheel weights were used. Might go take a look, but wanted to ask if anyone has any info.

Here is the carfax: CARFAX Vehicle History Report on SCCPC11176HL30441

I almost bought it last month. I had them down to 25k. Then they told me that the A/C system didn't work so they sent it to a Lotus dealer who said it would be $2000 to repair. The dealer didn't want to pay to repair the A/C so they offered me the car for 24.5k. That didn't seem fair to me at all as I don't think the car is worth 26.5k.

They told me they were going to have the A/C fixed and then would be asking 27k for the car. I think its a good car, one owner and looks to be in good shape. You can probably get a pretty good deal on it. Only problem is the title is going to say TMU for total mileage unknown. This was something I couldn't get over as I wasn't sure how long I was going to keep the car and didn't want to deal with selling a TMU car.

Thanks folks. Wow, $2000 for the A/C. I knew clusters were an issue, how much would that cost to replace? It sure would suck to be replacing clusters and A/C's every 12,000 miles. :(

Mine does, did you get the TSB done yet? It was horrible before and I remember sweating my ass off driving my gf to her birthday dinner in formal clothes. I decided after that to take it in and after the TSB fix it works sufficiently even in TX heat.

No. What's that? I got the extended warranty on my car, but nobody ever told me there was a fix. Even when I worked for Lotus San Francisco. :(
