Bigger and heavier with the exact same engine? Good! That way I won't feel tempted to buy it.etypeiii said:It's kind of weird - in the latest Road and Track (oct. 04) they have a short blurb on the "2006 Elise Mk. 3" with the same picture of the yellow Elise/VX220 lookalike as has been already posted in another thread.
Quote:
"In late 2005, an all-new version of the Lotus Elise, one that meets U.S. crash standards, will make its debut. The significantly wider car will be built on an all-new modular chassis, and will continue with the 190-bhp Toyota engine."
My guess is that, if this is true, the "MK3" Elise would debut in Europe first, then find its way to the U.S. a year later (2007 model year.) Plus, given Lotus' timeframes, it may debut in late 2005, but no one will be able to buy one until model year 2007.
