It looks as if they are becoming more fuel efficient but it also looks as though they are getting slower. Those 0 to 60 times look longer.

4.5 seconds seems like a set back...why make a track/performance car slower and better gas milage. People that are using them in the manner they are for don't give a crap out 3 or 4 miles more per gallon. I must be missing the point on this...

The numbers they listed for 2010 (presume European models)
Code:
Model		Combined	CO2	0-60 mph	0-100 km/h
*		(mpg)	(l/100km)	(g/km)	(seconds)	(seconds)
Elise S		37.2	7.6	179	5.7	6.1
Elise R		34.4	8.2	196	5.1	5.4
Elise SC	33.2	8.5	199	4.3	4.6
Exige S		33.2	8.5	199	4.5	4.7
The numbers we had in America last year
Code:
		city	highway
Elise		21	27		4.9
Elise Sport/72	24	29		4.7
Elise SC	20	26		4.4
Exige S		20	26		4.1
S240		20	26		4.0
Looks like the Elise SC is faster, everything else is slower. But I wager we might see different numbers on the US Models. Or maybe they're measured differently.

They probably didn't have a choice, what with all these new green measures coming up all new cars have to be fuel efficient. Maybe to have gotten government funding they had to be able to produce cars that give off certain co2 g/km
