2013 West Coast Lotus Meet

Exciting news for Lotus Enthusiasts! The West Coast Lotus Meet (WCLM) will be back in 2013. Save July 4-7, 2013 for 4 days of Lotus celebration in the Emerald City of Seattle, Washington.

The host club for the 2013 WCLM is the Evergreen Lotus Car Club.

The 2013 WCLM is set-up to be fun, memorable and a super enjoyable Lotus experience for any Lotus enthusiast.

The fun begins on July 4th with an Opening Reception and dinner at the WCLM hotel, the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue, Washington, only blocks away from Lake Washington.

On Friday, July 5th WCLM entrants will be treated to an opportunity to visit Paul Allen’s Flying Heritage Collection, with WWII fighters, vintage aircraft and even military tanks! And you can dash between the cones at the WCLM autocross (still in negotiations), or tour the local area and then cap off the day with a really great buffet-style dinner at the Snoqualmie Casino.

Saturday, July 6th is another busy day for the 2013 WCLM. The day opens with a WCLM Lotus Corral at the SOVERN 4th of July Vintage Racing Weekend at the Pacific Raceway in Kent Washington. During the lunch break the WCLM entrants will have an opportunity to drive several laps of the historic Pacific Raceway which has been the home to Trans Am and Can Am battles in the 60s and 70s. You’ll get to drive this historic race track as it sweeps through Turn 2 and plunges down into the demanding Turn 3!

Saturday evening will open with the WCLM cocktail hour followed by the WCLM Banquet at the recently opened LeMay – America’s Car Museum. The Museum has over 500 incredible cars housed in its 165,000 square feet of space! A visit to this car museum is something that you will not want to miss.

The 2013 WCLM will conclude on Sunday July 7th with the WCLM Concours and Awards Picnic at Griot’s Garage. And after the WCLM awards are announced you’ll sadly have to say good-bye to all your WCLM friends, but the memories and stories will last a lifetime.

The 2013 WCLM will be headquartered at the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue, Washington. Special reduced rates have been negotiated for WCLM entrants.

There’s more details about the 2013 WCLM and registration will open shortly at www.westcoastlotusmeet.com or 2013 West Coast Lotus Meet - July 4-7 - Seattle, Washington!

You can also join the WCLM Facebook group at:

On behalf of the WCLM commitee, we'll see you in Seattle!

Register for the Track Day...

Kiyoshi, just registered for the event and room at the Red Lion, so good to go!

A heads up for others. The Pacific Raceways Track Day is set up for Thursday, July 4th. It is separate registration. I registered today, and Don from ProFormance called me back. So far we need more cars to get the numbers up, so please consider getting registration in early so they get their car count results.

Another thing that might be of interest. I also registered with ProFormance on Wednesday, July 3rd. They have a school booked for that day, and it is on for sure. This will give me some instructor time on Pacific Raceway ahead of the Lotus Meet event, so hopefully should be able to solo on the 4th. :) This could be a great idea if you are coming as a couple, and one person wants to take the full school on Wednesday. Their school track car fleet includes Mini Cooper S' and Elise'. :) I have only done one Track Day, and this looks like an excellent opportunity if you are new to it or want to try it out. The Host Hotel is only about 40 minutes from the track, and they provide the Meet room rate for the extra days, so all good.

ProFormance Racing School- Competition and High Performance Driving

PM me if you want Don's cell number to find out about the school, or sign up on-line and he will probably call you back.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

BUMP.

Yes, early bird registration is over, but there's good news the standard registration fee dropped by $25 and is $250 for a member of a Lotus club. Consider what you get for the fee - 4 days for Lotus fun that includes: WCLM momento, WCLM AutoX, 2 lunches, 1 BBQ, 2 dinners, 1 banquet, entry to the Flying Heritage Collection, entry and special parking to the LeMay Auto Museum, entry and corral parking to the Northwest Historic Races, Lotus scenic drives and more.

Here's a fun highlight video of the 2006 WCLM - West Coast Lotus Meet 2006 - YouTube

See you in Seattle!

I'm trying to round up some Montana, Idaho and Spokane guys.

Are there sound limits at racetrack?
Do we need helmets for the tracetrack or are there Loaners?
Is it $275 per person or per car? I'd like to bring my wife.

Just finished registering and booking the hotels. I'm doing both the pre and post events.. My wife and I are excited. Curious if there is a caravan heading to Portland from the South Bay. I'm thinking of doing a 2-day drive..First to Ashland and then to Portland..I don't know if I can drive 11+ hours straight to Portland in a car with no cruise control. :)

John,

If you're on Facebook use the WCLM Facebook page to hook up with others travelling from the Bay Area. There's already a few caravans planned.

+1 on adding a day to get to Portland from the Bay Area.
But, FYI, a more interesting route I plan to try that doesn't add much time or mileage is to get off I-5 onto 97 and stop at Klamath Falls on the way North and then continue North on 97 before cutting West on 58 to get back to I-5 at Eugene. (A modest side trip to Crater Lake is also possible out of Klamath Falls. :))
