Road test results seem to be so subjective as to be almost meaningless. Comparing one magazine to another, and then trying to correct for temperature, tire pressure, driver weight, humidity, track friction, etc., etc., is very difficult. C&D Porsche 911 Reviews - Porsche 911 Price, Photos, and Specs - Car and Driver obtained the following results for a 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera PDK, with 370 hp, 331 lbs ft., and a weight of 3303 lbs. 0-60 in 3.7. 0-100 in 8.5, and 1/4 mile in 11.9, at 118. Compare to the figures quoted for the Evora 400 manual, with 400 hp, 302 lbs ft, and a weight of 3200 lbs.: 0-60 in 4.2 (I believe Lotus claim IPS is slightly faster now?), 0-100 in 10.0, and quarter mile in 12.6 at 111.
The Porsche provides more torque and probably at a lower RPM, but still, these seem like substantially better figures for not that much more torque, and lower HP, which you would think might start to come into play somewhat in the 1/4? Better Cd?
I know the (Type 121) Europa never made it to the USA, but I thought some of you might be interested in an article I wrote for a number of magazines, here published by Lotus Club Queensland.
The Forgotten Lotus ?
In the boardroom scene when Lee Iacocca is doing the slide show is the red car he shows a S1 Elite? It had a yellow badge on the hood which made me think it was. It was only a brief look so I'm not sure.
