I guess I learned my lesson--don't joke about 666. While turning onto Hillsdale after getting off 101 in San Mateo I got hit by a Subaru Forrester going about 30-35 mph through a red light. Had I been one second quicker I would have gotten nailed on the driver's door instead of at the hinge, and would likely be at Stanford hospital instead of at home with a bruised foot, hand, and neck. Funny how you think of all the things leading up to that moment, had you done something differently it would have never happened. Had I gotten in the other lane behind someone else, or if I stayed at McDonald's a couple seconds more. Or if Apple's new MacBook Pro drove a 30" monitor out of the box and I didn't have to stop at the mall for an adapter. Or if I didn't have to go into work on a Sunday
I'm pretty sure it'll get totalled judging from the amount of damage to the wheel, clam, and door. I'm so sad at losing my little car I want to cry--I've never been so happy with a car before. I can't wait to have all of the insurance settled so I can fill my empty garage with another Elise.
