Hi new to club, just purchased a one owner for last 20 years Elan se with 40k, the car has only covered 300 miles in last 10 years, i purchased it off a gent whom unfortunately will never drive again it is in Bright yellow with leather trim special edition model, the car is like new however due to the gents illness the keys have been lost misplaced, I picked the car up, with windows down, battery u/s and steering locked, I am calling the local Lotus dealers tomorrow with a hope they may be able to help obtaining keys, also alarm fob, i just had a thought that the keys could be locked in boot and wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to gain entry without damaging lock just in case i can get replacement keys. thought about unbolting hinges but dont know if this is possible or would help.
Any ideas if it is possible before i take the drill out!
thanks Richard

I think opening the boot would require drilling a hole, so wait for the keys

DONT start it.

It needs a timing belt

NOW

It is isuzu stuff, short money, do the water pump too.

then drive the snot out of it
