sun⋅shine   [suhn-shahyn] -noun Something bright in the sky. Rarely exists in the state of Michigan with the exception of July and August. At that time, the sun is a mere 40 million miles from the state and temperatures are unbearable.

"Warm wind blows the stars around...."

Only TWO Elises?

This weather we're experiencing is not common in January, so take advantage of it!

Last night I drove home from my astronomy class at 10:30pm. A mild Santa Ana wind brought the temperature to a comfortalbe 72. I removed the soft top and drove under the stars! On the way home brilliant Orion with the ruby red Betelguese and sapphire blue Rigel were framed perfectly above the Elise's windshield header. Off to the left, Sirius shone brightly like a beacon guiding me home. The only the warm wind reminded me that I was speeding down the freeway, not up "there"!

So....anyone to join us tomorrow? Day or night?

BTW: I'm having a "Star Party" Saturday Night 8PM at Moorpark College Observatory for my students. Lotus friends are invited too!

Would love to go for a drive, but I experienced DOUBLE Lotus failure today.

My Exige started spewing coolant somewhere around the radiator. It's out of commission until I can get it flatbedded up to T.O. for a better look.

Then, as I took the cover off of my back-up (the Elise) I noticed that one of the rears is flat and is not holding air.

Just not my day. I'm stuck in the Rover on such a beautiful weekend.

:(

By the way... anybody know how backed up Silver Star's shop is? Since they have the only shop in L.A. now, I wonder how long it will take to get my car through.

...i've headed up the same roster before, myself - enjoy!..

(generally, i've managed the most respectable turnouts when i've announced drives thursday one weekend in advance, with a followup reminder the thursday before - seems to best synch with folks' weekend planning)

No Lotus for me for three weeks :(

The PCH night time drive rock event has turned into needing a new clam.

SCC is taking care of me well and I will have a de-seamed, Venture Shielded Elise in a few weeks. Thanks to Eddie and everybody else who recommended them.

I would have liked to make an Exise by putting an Exige clam on, but the rockers and louvers were a bit beyond my budget right now. I am undecided whether to put the OEM polycarbonate nose guards back or fit a ForcedFed carbon fiber/fiberglass spoiler.

Happy motoring all!
