I was having the problem with the AC running for a while, then stopping until you let the car sit and then it ran again. I thought it was the freezing issue but this past summer, it stopped blowing cold air.

If I reset the ECU, it would blow cold air for about 20 seconds and then the compressor would shut off.

Thinking it was low on freon, I bought a do it yourself AC kit and added a can until the pressure was about 32 psi on the low side. The AC was blowing cold while I was adding the freon but once I stopped, the low pressure side would slowly drop down to 24 psi and the compressor would shut off.

The only wan I can get the compressor to turn on is to reset the ECU and then the compressor will run for about 20 seconds and I can watch the guage drop from 32-24 PSI and the compressor shuts off. I can repeat this over and over again.

Any ideas AC gurus?

Thanks

Phil

Certainly sounds like a leak. Your best bet is to take it to an AC specialist for them to detect where, if any, the leak is coming from. They use either a sniffer or dye.
