Yes, I put in a quick release steering wheel and installed the wrong relay to fool the system. Had to have sector111 do the reset. I believe it was $30

I gave up and put a piece of black tape over the light (no air bags, track car). If ambitious would pull the instrument cluster and kill the wire to the bulb I guess.

I thought it took a dealer to reset these.

Doesn't the resistor have to be in place before the electricals are activated again, lest it trip the light? That is, has this approach worked after the fact?

I used the wrong resister. Light came on. Used this one, then had them do the reset for me. Light has never come back on.

Hello guys ,

I successfully reset the airbag light using op-com tool:

NEW OP-COM Vauxhall OPEL OBD2 Interface Code Reader Scanner Scan Tool | eBay

You can find lots of this on eBay ....

The airbag ecu is same from vx220 , you have to select as model vauxhall astra and reset all error in The airbag ecu(total different from engine ecu)
Even if error has been resolved The light don't go down itself, it need to be resetted

Here The procedure:

2007 elise air bag light

thanks for all the feed back
the srs or air bag control modlue i installed was good with no fault codes in it i also used the airbags from the same car and replaced the deploied ones in my car. on most vehicles if the srs system fault is corrected the light will go out
not sure if lotus is the same?
of course my cheep obd scanner shows no dtcs
i do have vag software but figured it wount work german/english cars.
is the a trouble code that needs to be reset in the engine or main ecu once air bags have been deployed ?

just to add info's also my odb reader ( d900) doesnt show anything as error is strored in the airbag ecu and not in engine Ecu. As airbag ecu is GM/siemens part vag software doesn't work, i have resolved it selecting Vauxhall astra 2004 model on opcom interface.
In my case the problem was the airbag squib that seems loose contact on road bump.
Resetted the error with opcom and light goes away and never come back on

Thanks Giorgio80! I ordered the Op-com system off of ebay ($20) and besides having a little trouble withe the software install (the software came on a mini-cd and my laptop has a slot optical drive) everything worked perfectly. I no longer have to stare at that stupid airbag light!

Thanks!

The airbag plug has two wires, I just plugged it into both wires, Closing the circuit. The system thinks there is still a airbag.

Removed the airbag and trim ring to resurface it and it looks great. Unfortunately, I started the car to move it when the airbag was out so I have a permanent airbag light. The tool listed above is not available but found this one for all Opal products. Can I get an opinion if this one will work? Has anyone tried it?
