Hello,
I am also from Columbus, Ohio. I am looking into getting an Exige
soon. I've been an rx7 owner for the last 18 years. I currently have
a white 94' and a red 87' Turbo i built for the track. I have gotten a little
tired on working on these cars. I would like something I can just jump
into and have fun either on the track or on the street. I love the styling
of the lotus cars and with a toyota drive train they must be pretty bullet
proof. And I always read on how well they handle. So I'm pretty excited
about getting one. I have to get rid of the other toys first. So I might
not have one until next year. Just matters how long it takes to get rid
of everything. But in the mean time I'm here reading and watching.

Rx7's are so sweet, especially the last gen but man do they like breaking down. Did a few drivers schools a few years back with the Cincy rx7 club, every year at least on of the cars would need a trailer to make it home. W/o a doubt one of the best handling cars on the road even still today.....

I have also been reading collecting info for when I can finally afford one. Lots of info to be found on this site!

I bought the 94' back in 2008. And had to rebuild it right after I bought it.
It has 60k miles on her. Really good shape. I bought the 87' back in January
from the original female owner with 30k miles. Ended up rebuilding it also.
It had a funny handling problem when I bought it. I worried about getting
her to run good first. Now that I'm looking into the handling. Its starting to
point into a possible bad steering rack. So I guess I got to replace that
next. I am however 15 years and zero on blowing one up. I've always been
really good at tuning them. And I've always ran upfront on the race track
with them also. There older cars and it always seems to be something
you have to put money into.

I tried a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 that I bought new. And talk about bad understeer.
Then last year I tried a 08' Nissan 350z base model. I personally didn't like the
way it handled. I had a few friends think I was crazy, but it was just my
opinion. Just didn't like it.

I would like to drive an Elise or Exige before I buy one. But don't know if that
will be possible. But from what I read and hear with these cars I don't think
I'll be disappointed. I'll keep researching and maybe even get to meet some
of you. I have a friend selling an 05' Elise right now. I might see if he is
ok with me taking a drive in it. I'm sure the handling between the two
is close.

Cool! Hi from a fellow Columbus resident with an Exige. Good luck with your search!
Thanks ajp240! How you like your Exige? How long have you had it?

Welcome, good luck on your search!!

I was in the same boat as u when it came to wanting to drive one but I did get a chance to test drive 2 that eventually showed up in Columbus in the 2 years I waited for the right car to show up.

If you are just looking for a test drive this one is relatively close to Columbus (http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/inview/detail.jsp?dealer_id=66607091&dealership_view_name=beckfordauto&ct=u&car_id=319494976) and if you were worried it was "kep inside no dants" :)

Yeah, it's tough to find one to test drive. Most people won't be ok with that unless you have cash in hand to buy it. I test drove one when MAG had two used ones around. They were super awesome about it and I didn't end up getting one of those.

About a week and a half. Not disappointed at all!

Cool thanks for the link zender! I found one that I'm going to be able to
test drive this Saturday. That should help me make some decisions.
I'll give an update on how I liked it afterwords.

Yeah, I checked out MAG. They don't seem to have anything right now.
Not even Evora's. Do they still have the Lotus dealership? It shows up online.
Just nothing in their inventory. Good idea though!

So did you have a chance to test drive one on Saturday? And if so how was it?
