althought I'm not locate in HK now
I think TWRD is the most dedicate Lotus shop in HK. Alot of international members had good experience with them. From Thailand -> Singapore -> Australia -> Canada -> USA...etc.

beside them, there is Revzport in Chai Wan & ESTA International in Kwun Tong which only selling body parts.
Lotus market never been big so you can't compare with Japanese Import shop like SuperGT & Top Racing IMO.

Hi,

Have you visit his workshop??
Yes, and he did the following so far:
1. Add 2 radar detectors
2. Enlarge the IC scoop's opening
3. Engine mount
4. Stiff the shifter

But...... when the bill arrive, I was -eek-:panic::shrug:TADTS:thwack::wallbang: I will try the Take One in Kowloon for the next mod. To compare the labour cost and parts cost.

Hi, can I ask what radar detectors you had installed and approximate cost? And why did you get two? I need to get another radar detector...too many close calls speeding late at night! :panic:

V1 over charged in HK's shop ( USD542 from HK shop:wallbang:, should buy from internet) and Escort 9500ix (USD499.95 bought from internet).

V1 is very sensitive but don't do red light cam nor speed trap that build into the road, 9500ix can program in the speed trap and red light cam. Will install Laser jammer later on. Because all the MD and ND in HK.

Thanks for elaborating. I have a V1 in my other car but may add the Escort as well since it has the GPS function. Which laser shifter are you planning on getting?

What is "MD" and "ND"??

Thanks

Got it...thanks! Almost got nabbed again yesterday...time to add a Blinder adn the Escort 9500 :panic:
Got caught by laser trap in today's MD before going in the tunnel :wallbang: I did not slow down, because there never has any laser previously. And I forgot to turn on the 9500. As least 9500 will tell what's it detected instead of V1 just sound the alarm.

Are you sure? The V1 emits a different alarm sound for laser vs KA, K and X-band radar....more of a siren vs a "brapp". Also, not sure if you are using a remote display with your V1 but I modified mine similar to the ones sold by fullcolordefense.com so the alarm warning lights are different colors for laser (blue) vs. the various radar bands (red/yellow/green). The current lights are pretty useless as they all look the same and are too close together. :(

Was this going into the Western tunnel? A few of my friends got nailed this weekend by the cops hiding up in the observation booth....sneaky. :thwack:

You are in HK or in LA?

I did not pay attention to the V1's sound and did not use the remote display :thwack:.
I was nailed at the Happy valley Tunnel around 9:30am in Sunday. By tunnel auth.'s own laser tray instead of police's. :crazyeyes

I usually split my time between LA and Hong Kong but the last two years I've been mostly in Hong Kong since my daughter was born and so I prefer not to travel if possible.

The negative with the V1 IMHO is that it's very sensitive and gives a lot of false alarms - so I know quite a few who turn the volume almost all the way down and get zapped because they didn't hear it. Its a pain in the a** to always reach the mute button every time it falses so on mine I bought a remote mute button (on ebay for about US$10) and installed it on the back of my turn signal stalk (this is in a non-Lotus car)...very easy to tap with my finger tip so less of an issue putting up with the V1's false alarms.
