I am a Lotus owner in Taipei

Sorry I replied to this link so late. I had my Lotus imported to Taiwan earlier this year and had just passed the strict emission, fuel consumption, and noise tests a few weeks ago. I just received my license plate two days ago and can now legally drive the Lotus on to the street. You are correct in that there are not too many Lotus in Taiwan. Due to the strict emission, noise, and fuel consumption standards, it is very difficult to get low volume sports cars registered in Taiwan. There may be many Porsches and Ferraris in Taiwan, but there will only be a handful of Lotus and extremely rare high displacement exotic cars (Carrera GT, Enzo, Murcielago) due to the strict rules.

My license plate reads 3111-xx. Please wave and say hello if you see me driving around my apartment near the Taipei 101.

My car is a Saffron Yellow US Spec 2005 Lotus Elise Hardtop with sports package (Yoko Advan A048 rubber and racing suspension).
I also have a few sports cars which I drive on a more regular basis. Lotus is a very special car to me while my Porsche and Mercedes are the main cars I drive on a daily basis.

Happy motoring,
Ken
