Anyone Else Beta Testing Gmail?

Anyone else beta testing Gmail? Just got my account today. Still too early to tell if I like it but at least I get 1GB of space.

Yes.

I think I like it. People are selling these on ebay!

You have to be invited by someone that has it. You get a certain number of invites to give away. And no, I don't have any.

Gmail also adds threaded messages, supposedly a very sophisticated anti-spam filter.

they also look through all your email and send you advertisements based on the content. That doesn't really matter to me though cuz i would use it solely as an account to mess around on these internet car boards and stuf.

Yahoo Mail just sent me a email that they now offer 100mb for free. It appears that it's there answer to GMAIL

Huggy,

How do I get Gmail?
PM me if better...Thanks
Forget GMail, Google plans on searching through your email and then spamming you with related advertizements. Yahoo has a much better privacy policy and so you don't have to sell your soul to get a little space on the server. Save your soul for something more valuable and rare like a Federal version of the Lotus Elise.

My friend just signed up with GMail, 1 GB of storage. Who the hell needs 1 GB of storage, unless you're emailing yourself porn or something. LOL!

i use Yahoo mail. I have the usual 6 MB of storage, but this morning as I signed in I was granted a loyal user award or whatever. I got 100 MB of storage now and I can send a max email size of 10 MB (vs. 1.5MB)!

I was plesantly surprised.

Yes it seems as if yahoo's rebuttal is to give their customers 100MB and increase the per message size increased to 10 MB. I received the same email today. I think yahoo implemented autocomplete for the email addresses now. Gmail has this feature too.

As Randy said you have to be invited and unfortunately, I don't have any to give away.

I haven't been using it very long so I don't know if the automated organization of my emails is any good. As I receive and send more emails I'll get a better feel for it. I hope it keeps relevant email threads together. Same goes for Adsense software. I'm curious to see if it's intelligent enough to automatically show you links to relavant information. Right now it seems ok. Takes a little getting used to. No address book. Oh and not POP3 right now but I'm sure it's going to be added later.

All I need now is Google IPO shares!

I think they should let all Gmail account holders have a crack at a bid for the shares. :D

Ya know, you people should all just buy a domain name and get $10/yr hosting for it. Then you can make as many "free" email addresses as you want, with UNLIMITED (50gb or so) storage. Plus, you'll get FTP and can host a homepage for your pictures! I just don't see any reason not to do it for $20/yr total.

I have GMail, but haven't really used it at all to evaluate it. I have a friend that reads all his email through GMail because he likes the threading. I'm not big on web-based email, so I will probably not continue to use mine.
