Anyone here running the Lexan windshield?

I have seen it on Sector's website and it saves a good amount of weight at the top of the car (16lbs) for the $599. I know it's no DOT approved but I can't imagine that is an issue.

I'd be concerned about scratches and yellowing for everyday use. I'm sure they are great for race cars.
+1 on the scratches.

After owning two airplanes with plastic windshields, all I can say is I would never want one on a street car. Anything that rubs on or touches them leaves scratches. In fact I can't think anything that doesn't scratch them! I have spent countless hours buffing hazing and scratches out of my airplane windows and hated every minute of it. I can't even imagine what would happen if you tried to use a windshield wiper on one. :panic:
Do we have anyone who has installed this windshield for an extended period - and can report on it's performance?
Installed last weekend. The coating appears durable. The plan is to use tear offs to protect the windshield. Good weight savings.

I glued (3M adhesive for windshields) and riveted. Rivets were probably not necessary, an extra precaution.

How difficult is it to remove and replace the windshield? Does anything need to be removed aside from the access panels and windshield wiper?
I've had mine in my track only car for over a year with tear offs. Glued in only. No wiper. After the first tear off came off it looked brand new except for the one scratch that went through the first tear off and scratched the second too.
