 Yellow is a very "Lotus" colour! (That said when my wife agreed I could get an Elise it was on the condition that it was not yellow!)God.. is has to be yellow doesnt it. uhh.

You could find this out with an ECU dump - but equally if the car checks out well in all other respects I wouldn't be worried about it having been on a track. Condition is the most important thing with a Lotus - a good condition car that has ben tracked is a better buy than a poor condition one that has never seen a track.Im considering it but I do not want to get stuck with a car where its entire 1300 miles have accrued on track days. The car in question spent most of its life in the Atlanta area, I was hoping someone here might know its provenance

As an example I just found out that my Elise had seen significant track work under its first owner when I bought new tyres for the first time - the tyre dealer knew the car well! (I bought it from an out of state dealer and never met the original owner). Despite that it has been faultless for the nearly three years I've owned it!
Not any car dealer - you can get an ECU dump at a Lotus dealer though. It basically shows you how the car has been treated in terms of standing starts and high speed runs plus %time at the various rev ranges. Essentially the ECU dump is an additional tool in an inspection. So what would the ECU tell you? can any car dealer look though the ECU? I trying to do the samething. Buy a car. Thanks for your time.

All the best finding a car you like and getting into it as soon as possible
The sooner you buy one the more enjoyment you are going to get!!!WoW!! Thank you... Thats really good info... I just hope a Lotus dealer is in the area or any dealer that can read the ECU. Do you have anyother great ideas????
Dont rub it in!!! LOL. Good price and the miles on this car is even better. -eek-I have got burned on E-bay more then once.I missed the one I wanted:
eBay Motors: Lotus : Elise (item 190275071975 end time Dec-28-08 19:00:00 PST)
2005 1200 miles sold for $26400
That's too funny. This is exactly what my wife said to me about the Exige.(That said when my wife agreed I could get an Elise it was on the condition that it was not yellow!)
I'll buy it if you can explain thisThe carfax looks a bit suspicious. The car appears to have spent much of its life in Louisiana but was serviced once in Atlanta and then returned to Louisiana. Figuring in the round trip miles makes the Carfax dates look suspicious.
