Not initially. There are a bunch of people who would jump on it if it were available. Who knows, they may add it as an option later to help beef up their softening profits.

Or just take your car to a good paint shop and have them paint 'em on.

How about white stripes on a CO Elise? :D

Clyde told me that stripes will be offered, but later on down the road, not in the first year.

Probably likewise with additional options already offered on the euro cars. Got to give something to zing em with second year!
Kind of disappointing if that is the reason why they are not offering it now...I mean they said yes to CO, yes to laser blue, when in reality if you look at overall #s I bet only a small % of people will get those colors. By their own admission laser will only be offered for a short time. They said yes to LSD, but I guess that is a different situation because they know a significant # of buyers will use their cars for track/autocross. Granted stripes require more work then, say, adding another color to the selection, but they are offering it right now for the 111R so it should be no big deal, and again any added cost options should be helpful to Lotus given the devalued dollar. Makes no sense to me. I will probably end up having it done myself....

Yes,
but were getting the car at a significant price differential from the 111R. If getting that means they limit the number of options on the car, no problem. So we may not be getting ALL the options initially that euro is but we're getting it for a bagful less $$

Also, after the flurry of interest dies down they've got to have some new options in subsequent years to sustain sales.

Lotus has got enough on their plate right now getting the US line under way, in the great words of Colin Chapman (and many others) KISS- keep it simple stupid.

Yes but isn't this car in its current form going to be here for 2 years until the necessary revisions are made in 2006? I don't think there will be a dip in demand before then...And the fact that we are getting a relative "deal" on the price is exactly my argument why they could offer these options to increase their profit margin. Probably your "keep it simple" argument is the most convincing - hey look at their website:) Maybe stipes will be "coming fall 2003":D

How difficult (expensive) will it be to add stripes once we get our cars? How woud Yellow look with green stripes?

Silly, Silly Folk. Haven't any of you ever seen Looney Toons? Pepe Le Pew's center of attention was a cat who somehow found her way under a paint brush and ended up with a stripe which made her look like a skunk.

This is real easy. Find a road crew doing a double line paint job and ask them to raise their spray head a couple of inches and you get your stripes. The great news is you can have any color as long as it's white or yellow. Even better, they'll glow in the dark!

Disappointing - green with yellow looks cool, but the other way round is just, hmm...
I think both looks are cool. Plus I really like zOOmz white with red stripes photoshop.

Here is one color combo that I am currently taken with: Storm Titanium with red stripes and a red interior. That would be the whip! :D

Uh oh.
Having second thoughts on the CO, Shinoo? :D

I'm starting to lean towards the Racing Green with Biscuit leather as shown in the other thread. The biscuit in those pictures is ALOT darker than the lazer blue car I hired in London in December, and so hopefully will wear a bit better. I'd actually like it even darker, but I must say, I'm amazed at the color range we're being offered. How many different colors are available on the S2000? And some people have the audacity to complain that their favorite isn't available. Geeez! ;)
