April 26 British Car show Alexandria

Bump.

This is a really nice show, Brit cars of all kinds. Last year's show had a really nice, original (which means rough) Lotus 7 Series 1, a couple Europas, a couple Esprits, and a few Elise/Exige.

Great location, too!

If you do two British Car shows in the area, this one is one, and the Original British Car Day at Lilypons in early June is the other.

The Turbo is sold. 3 weeks ago. Nice guy in Brooklyn. I drove it up to Philly and turned it over. Only 500 mi. in the last 2 yrs. Maybe 100 in 08.Time to pass it on. The maintence just never ended. Oil change and new Pagids Sat. and im good for Summit track day Sat. the 4th. That's why I bought the car. Made for the track and no work. Suppose I should change the avatar now.

Bump for a great show, it's this coming Sunday. Weather is supposed to be in the mid/high 70's.

Always a good sized field and some interesting cars. VERY nice location for such a show. The Lotus group gets larger each year.

You could go to summit point Hyperdrive with myself. 50 bucks for a day at the track :)

It's amazing how one typo can change the entire context.:D
damn it, thats what happens when i try to post from the phone :(

I'm not going to fix the typo though, maybe we can get out more LT members if they thought we were having a massive wet t-shirt contest :p

Good show, Lotus well represented. In attendance, including those who had to park immediately outside the show because it filled up:

3 Exige. 2006 Ardent Red, 2007 S Canyon Red, 2008 S240 Persian Blue
81 Essex Turbo Esprit. Supposedly the only one of three in the country that's running.
91 Esprit, Green.
A red Esprit of unknown year, Stevens body.
M100 Elan Red
Europa Twin Cam Red
Super 7 Green
Type 14 Elite Gray. Stunning.
5 Elise. Black and Orange in outside lot, 2 Lotus Racing Green and an Ardent Red inside.

Lots of other nice cars, including a couple Morgan trikes. A nicely restored Cooper F1 car and all the Triumphs, MG's, Jags, Bentley, Rolls, Woseley's you could want to see. Sunbeam Alpines and Tigers, an old Brit military vehicle, lots of Minis and MINIS, too!

Perhaps the near epic fail moment of the day was when the cars were first coming in, the tall grass was still wet from dew. The lotus line was at the top of a steep 20 foot or so embankment, the bottom of which had a bunch of TR7's lined up.

Event staff had the 91 Green Esprit backing up at the top of the embankment...went too far, and started to slide down on the wet grass, backwards. Tires were locked up, just sliding uncontrolled. Gently slid to a stop just short of plowing into the TR's.
