Posting for a friend-of-a-friend.... cool car, no affiliation.

Hi Guys,

_

Just thought someone might be interested in one of the most unique street
cars going, an Ariel Atom._ They are raced in the UK and can be built as
"street cars".__The Atom is a car that makes the Lotus Elise look like a
grocery getter.

_

A friend of a friend has ordered his second Ariel Atom and would like to
sell his first car._ It is fully assembled and well sorted._ It is also
fully titled and licensed for street use.

_

A couple of pics to temp you:

Jenn,

I don't know, as it's not my car. It's just a guess, but I would say the Olympic Peninsula. If not, somewhere in the Cascades. That just about covers it, right?

I saw that car and spoke to the owner at the local All British Field Meet back in July. It's an unbelievably nice car and the owner is a good guy as well. Very patient with all the questions from everybody.

Amazing cars.

Also amazing it could be street legal. Next time someone complains about feeling vulnerble in an Elise... look at the Atom.

Although, that top frame rail, at about the height of an SUV bumper, looks pretty good compared to just the Elise window sill!

NO!!!!!!!!!

I want one soooo bad. There are only 4 cars that I truely desire - '73 Dino, a 7 (or Caterham), Elise/Exige and the Atom most of all. I really love the Atom and if I could afford it that would be mine tomorrow. CRAP. I need to win the lottery. :(

And that AtomTalk.com link was just mean. I clicked it out of sheer hope...

I really love the Atom, too. 60k range is a bit more than I'd ideally pay for one, but a little less and I might be persuaded into one! :)

Can't tell what kind of engine it has in it, but I doubt that you would be disappointed in it. Most likely has the Rover engine, same as the older Elise, not the newer Honda. Bet that's why he is getting rid of this one for the Honda power one.

Here's Google results for the Atom

And yes, it would have to be registered as a kit car.

You can even get front and rear wings to make it look like an F1 car with the added bonus is that they DO work for real.

It looks like the car is listed on the Ariel web site. Look under used cars.

Seems that it has the Honda w/ the 6-speed.

I want it. I just wonder how much a kidney is going for in Mexico these day... ;)

That thing has to be a rocket. Has to be in the 3 second range for 0-60.

You just did find it! That's the _one_ that is here. The owner is bringing another over with the idea of becoming the US distributor if I understood his story correctly. There's an issue of Car (I think) that tests this same car on the Nurburgring right after they put the Honda motor in it.
