Its cold. The Broncos are done. Time to Autocross, well sort of.

Dress warm, and get the car out for some fun on Saturday.

Eiskhana: the slickest event of the year
Location: Georgetown Lake
Saturday, January 19
What? Drive on a lake? Are you crazy? Perhaps crazy like a fox advancing your driving skills on a frozen lake!
Experience what your car and tires can do on the ice, while giving that skittish family member a chance to experience a course event, with you at the wheel. Perhaps they think they can out drive you?
What about that pesky coworker who talks a big talk about their driving? Invite them out January 19 and find out if they can walk the walk aka drive the drive!
How fun would it be to take the car out and turn donuts until you can’t see straight!
Join us for our annual autocross on Georgetown Lake on January 19th. This is your opportunity to see how well you and your vehicle handle on ice and a great way to improve your emergency driving skills. Bring your Porsche or other vehicle of your choice.
We will meet at 7:30 AM at the Happy Cooker in Georgetown (412 6th St) for registration, coffee and breakfast if you desire. Registration fee will be $30. After that we will venture out onto the lake about 9:00 AM or so for our low-key timed runs. It should be fun. There are 12 – 15 inches of ice waiting for us.
Afterwards we will adjourn for lunch to the Buffalo Restaurant & Bar (1617 Miner St in Idaho Springs) and announce the results.
No pre-tech or top-tech required, but winter wear and ice tread for your feet are highly recommended. Ice skates, hockey equipment and sleds optional. Oh yea, game on!
Lake side restrooms available however, but no concessions track side, so bring your own hot chocolate, coffee and snacks.
Volunteers are needed to help run the event. Please call or email John Mackin to help run the event or if you have questions.

Eiskhana: the slickest event of the year

Location: Georgetown Lake
Saturday, January 17
8:00 AM Registration at the lake
9:00 AM Start
Late lunch in Idaho Springs
$25 per driver

What? Drive on a lake? Are you crazy? Perhaps crazy like a fox advancing your driving skills on a frozen lake!

Come out and join in the fun at the Eiskhana. It is a great way to enjoy the unique experience of driving on ice. This is a cool opportunity to test your car, your tires and your skills.

There will be an autocross with timed runs and a skid pad. Porsches are desired but not required, feel free to bring your winter driver with snow tires or studded tires. Pre-tech will not be required and no top-tech on site; but we highly recommend de-cluttering your car before you drive. Since speeds and g-forces are low, we will not be wearing helmets. Restroom facilities will be available at the lake. There is no pre-registration; just show up at the north side of Georgetown Lake and register, $25 a driver. Please bring cash or check.

It may be very cold out on the ice so dress warm. There will be a warming trailer with hot cocoa and breakfast items. Bring your family and friends to this fun low key event!

After the runs finish at the lake we will then meet for a late lunch at the Buffalo Restaurant & Bar (1617 Miner St in Idaho Springs) and announce the results. There will be some great prizes for fastest times provided by our sponsors. We also need some volunteers so please contact me if you would like to help with this event.

Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Our sponsors this year are Adam Jaspers with Rennstall and Winding Road Adventures.
