Has anyone used Baker in Princeton NJ for lotus repair/warranty work since they acquired Sports and Specialty last month? I am due for for my annual fluid change and need a few warranty items checked as well. I believe Ian is with them now which would be a plus.

I'm trying, I'll let you know. Ian is there. He does good work. Went in last week, waiting for a response on a warranty item.

I went there a few weeks ago and Ian worked on my car. The service counter guys were great to deal with and sound like real car guys.

My warranty is up, but I was waiting on a dash/airbag replacement (was on backorder) from Sports and Specialist from when I was still in the warranty period and before they closed. Ian made a call to Dave Simkin and Lotus is still honoring the warranty work needed. So Baker/Victory is supposed to order the parts again although Ian advised they are still on backorder.

I doubt the parts will come in before I put car away for the winter in a few weeks. :(

Had the oil line recall done on my Elise the second day they were open for Lotus business. Ian is doing his thing just in different digs. Just miss Ed and Nichole as well!

I took mine in on Friday for the oil line recall and an oil change. No problems with the place and the staff were fine. Ian was still there and took care of everything.

...But waiting in a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep waiting area is a far cry from walking around and checking out the classics at the old place.

Dylan,

The Lotus dealership was bought by Baker Chrysler Jeep and all was moved to their Princeton facility. The original building in Hopewell is used for BMWs and such, not sure if they are associated with Baker.

There is a blue Evora sitting in the old S&S show room. Maybe there is a casual business relationship between them?

That's what I thought, and I went there (Princeton) when they initially took over from S&S. Recently visited their website, and on the home page there's a "New Location" button, and when you click it, it shows the Broad Street location on a map. When you go to the "Contact Us" tab, it shows this:

Victory Lotus

49 East Broad Street
Hopewell, NJ 08525

Showroom (609) 902-2240

When the S&S Lotus dealership was purchased by Baker Chrysler Jeep, they also bought a building just down the street from their Jeep dealership on Rt 206 (if I remember right, it was the old Taylor Rental Center).

I heard that the (Taylor Rental Center) building was supposed to be rebuilt and turned into a stand alone Lotus Dealership building. However, the last time I drove by, the back lot was filled with brand new Jeeps. I didn't see any progress on the building.

I tried calling the dealership phone number indicated on their website three times last week, and nobody answered. Every time it went to voicemail and didn't have any sort of greeting like "hello, you've reached Victory Lotus, please leave a message..." and just went to the default "you've reached 609-xxx-xxxx." I mean, if you aren't gonna answer the phone or even set up the voice mail, how can I trust you care about anything else? Even though I did succeed in using them last fall, I think I'm gonna take my business elsewhere for now.

Where is "elsewhere"? I'm curious to know if there's an alternative around here.

I'm going to try William Thomas Roadsters (William Thomas Roadsters, LLC). Seems like a decent guy. Quite a drive for me (SJ, just across from Philly), but he is accommodating.
I also recommend:

Possum Hollow Motorsports
481 Schuylkill Rd
Phoenixville PA 19460

For those closer to northern NJ and upstate NY, I can definitely recommend Paul Summers at Panthera Racing (Panthera Racing - Exotic, Custom and Race Vehicle Preparation, Modification, Tuning and Restoration in the NY NJ CT PA area.). He fixed my Katana tune problems (Secant/Sector 111 problems, to be more precise), an achievement that eluded two of the other parties mentioned in this thread. I like it when someone I'm paying actually knows what he's doing.
Would you mind telling us which 2 shops failed? If you don't want this public, you could PM me.

Thanks.
