I just got my Battery Tender the other day, and today I finally had a chance to plug it in. I have the cigarette lighter adapter and that seems the easiest method of connection for me.

My question is: Can I arm the alarm while the Tender is plugged in this way?

The passenger-side window is open about an inch to allow the wire connected to the cigarette lighter to run out the window and connect to the Tender. Is this setup going to trigger the alarm?

I read about how the interior light in the wrong position can trigger the alarm, so I thought I'd ask before arming it if it's that sensitive. My car is parked a 5-minute drive from where I live, so I won't hear the alarm if it is triggered due to a false alarm, but the other people in the same garage building will.

Yes, you can arm the alarm.

The only way I can think that might possibly trigger the alarm in this case would be someone wiggling the cord to set off the interior cabin motion detector, but that can be readjusted so as to not be quite so sensitive if needed.

yep, just arm the alarm as usual.

My tip, make sure the lighter adapter stays seated well when you close the door. I missed out on a drive because my adapter wasn't in well enough and didn't tenderize my battery for a month or so. Of course, if I had known the red and green light were supposed to be on on my AC adapter, I wouldn't have made this mistake
