At a test drive last weekend Steve Brown told me that he was expecting 10 cars by october and then 6 per month after that.

that is in line with what i have been told im #11 at behlmans and they told me to expect car around end of oct
They have been upfront about what they expect as allocations. However, it is fair to say we need to be realistic. I wont be surprised if they trickle in slower. However, with all the news of ramping up production we're bound to see better flow by the time our time is up. I'll be honest, after driving that car last week I'm 'ruined.' I'll always compare others to this as a benchmark. I'll keep waiting, it's worth it.
Guys:

I'll be outh ther this afternoon as I'm having dinner with Dave Simkin from LCU. Want me to steal the the demo? :)

Yes please. I can store it for you if you are concerned about cops.
Has Behlmann recieved anything besides their yellow demo & the black customer car to this point? I was ready to set up a test drive, but had a bicycle wreck & broke my arm. Now it's a race to heal before my Elise gets here!
Red Wine:

They have not recieved any more then the demo and the black one. Looks like the black one will be up for sale soon after talking to the owner.

Where are you in St. Louis? Call me at (314) 889-0572

Really, any particular reason? I actually saw him driving down Manchester last weekend. The car looked good, but seeing it confirmed that black just hides too many of the lines on Elise.

They've apparently just been invoiced for 4 more - early listers (#2, #3, [#5 or #6] and #7) can expect calls next week with more details.

#4 (one of the more infamous ebay pre-delivery "spot" sale attempts) is delayed owing to it being sports pack. I can't recall whether it's #5 or #6 that got skipped (color batching?) but the one of those two that ordered Arctic Silver wound up with the short end of the stick. Though some that ordered starshield got it, 2 that ordered it will be arriving without.  :(

As I recall, the same truck that dropped off the demo/#1 car in St. Louis made it's way up to Chicago afterwards. An optimist might interpret this as meaning that FVMC could be looking to receive (trailer capacity - 4) cars in the not-too-distant future. Of course, I'd be shocked if there are any optimists left around here. :D
Hi All:

I just got off the phone with Steve Brown at Mid-Rivers and they have four coming in next week for delivery.

Closer, ever closer!

Mark
He must have been busy calling people today! I got a call this morning, he needed to know if I wanted the Starshield or not. So it looks like things are moving.

BTW, for the people who saw the demo: Apparently the Lotus rep who was in last week was very unhappy with the Starshield installation on the demo, and they'll have somebody in to have it redone. It should look much better on the customer cars.

I pointed out several spots to Steve during my demo drive. The hole over the Lotus badge was off center and the superior aspec was hung on the badge. Furthermore, the center piece of the chin spoiler was overlapped and peeling off. Steve mentioned that he'd point it out to the rep.

On the issue of allocations the numbers fit. 2 cars so far (demo included) four more next week that leaves 4 more to make the 10 cars by October. Totally doable.
Just received an update from Steve Brown, Sales Manager for Behlmann Midrivers Lotus. He indicated that my car will be the the second built car in November for their dealership. He indicated an aproximate 5 week delivery date and hopes that I'll have it before Christmas. I'm #16 on their their list.
Thanks for posting the update. So I guess my call might come soon, I'm #19 (or 20, or 21, depending on how you count). It looks like they're on the predicted delivery schedule. I was kind of hoping that my car might arrive in early December or even late November, but it doesn't look like there will be a positive surprise.

Reto, you and I HAVE got to stop trading spots. :) I think the early confusion was with counting the dealer demo in the allocation pipe.

The only thing I know for sure is that I'm ahead of you! :p ;)

Considering that the cars don't necessarily arrive in order, I don't really care much what exactly my number is. They told me #19. I saw with my own eyes that there was a 21 besides my name in their order list, which included the demo car, so that's close enough. It would be kind of cool if our cars arrived at the same time.

So you think my friend, so you think. ;)

That indeed would be very good. I'm also hoping that the weather is nice enough, i.e. no ice, sleet, rain, snow, that I can drive it home instead of trailering it.
I talked to Steve Brown early last week because I was headed for St. Louis this past weekend. Some of you may have better information, but this is where I think MidRivers Lotus stands. I was not taking notes and my memory is getting pretty "senior". I would appreciate any corrections.

Steve told me last week that they had delivered seven cars. They had just received one that had not been delivered, yet. They had three on the way, but he thought those were overdue since he had gotten notice on them in the middle of September. Four more were supposed to arrive yet in October.

I stopped by Friday (10/22) afternoon on the way in. The yellow demo was gone. Steve said they sold it after the first 60 on their list had gotten their demo drives. I think he said thay got $5,000 over MSRP. The new arrival was a very nice dark (Magnetic) blue with track suspension, star shield, and a hardtop. Steve said then that no one on his list had ordered one close to the way this one was delivered. He also said that the guy that ordered it had been trying to sell his spot on eBay. Lotus USA had called him to inform him that the spot on the list was not his to sell. Anyway, he declined delivery.

When I walked up to him, Steve was talking to a guy who turned out to be from Kansas City. I think we were introduced, but I do not remember his name. After the KC guy left, Steve told me he was planning on starting through their list from 30 (cars not ordered yet) to see if anyone on the list wanted that one. I really liked the blue, but did not want the track suspension. Besides, I am #28, so Lotus has my order.

I stopped back by Saturday morning. The guy from KC had bought the car and it was being prepped for delivery. I guess I won't have the first one in KC.

It looks like Steve's early statement of 10 by the end of October and 6 or 7 per month is still holding up, but Steve says it seems a bit slow to him. I am still hoping for January, but with Kansas City winters, February or March is fine.
