to those who have successfully mounted their V1's, please share your knowledge. i've already done a search and found no updated info on mounting a V1 to the elise. thanks.

I finally took the V1 into the Elise yesterday. All this time I've been driving "nekkid" There really isn't a good place to mount it. Down low, the rear sensor would be compromised. Up high...well, there's no room with the sunvisors and rear view mirror. I had it mounted smack dab in the middle with the umbilical cord going to the accesory port, but that location wouldn't be good for long term, leave it and forget about it situations. I would think that mounting it on the rear window would be the best bet and running wire for the remote module to be mounted up front would be the only way to do it.

hey. i use escorts sr7 system in my cars...thats the one where its moun ted in ur grill and u have but a very small display in ur cabin....works awesome...i also have a v1 and they are about equal in my head to head tests....
i know the elise sits low for a front mount, but i believe it will be just fine...

I use the Escort 8500 X50 and have it mounted on the rear window and plugged into the outlet beneath. It's a rear firing detector,so it works perfectly on the bottom portion of the rear window and is less visible that having it on the windshield. It has been continuously saving my butt.

I have a V1, but I don't have my car yet. Under the roll bar, to the right of the driver's seat back seems like the best place. The underside of the roll bar cover seems deep enough that it would not be noticed.

good point....I have been thinking about doing this. A bracket to mount the detector up against the cover at the top of the rear window would be the least visible. I,personally,don't need to even see the frequency readout....although it would be visible in the rear view mirror........ and hardwire the sucker in.

Actually,my previous post doesn't work. I just went out to try it and the windshield frame and rearview mirror block a straight line of sight to the detector. This will impair the lazar detector. Sorry...........back to the drawing board.
