The car I bought has a BOE catch can, which is vented. It's mounted where I believe the windshield wiper fluid tank was. Is this safe to track with? I'm worried about oil exiting this thing and whether a closed system is more appropriate. Thoughts?

In contrast a "sealed" system is NOT safe for the track... Combustion isn't meant for an oil rich mixture...

Phil,
Does the engine bay and hatch cover get oil misting on account of your open system?

IME, if the catch can is empty/close to it, and you're still fogging the engine bay, you've got far bigger problems:).

In a pinch, at the track, with a, um, "seasoned" motor, I found myself needing a bigger catch can.

Gatorade bottle zip tied to brake booster bracket, jam hose in, done. Worked beautifully, if downright ugly.
