Ok Ladies and Gentlemen, we are doing this again. The first event was a huge success. On a Sunday in February when the temps hovered around freezing there were 75+ cars. For this event Sam Lurie from The Beantown Sound and myself have graciously been given permission to use the parking lot at Trade Center 128 in Woburn. This is a new building and very clean, plenty of parking and the on site Dunkin Donuts will open for us.
***Important Things To Remember***
Please be mindful of the surroundings. Place all trash in trash bags, or take it with you when you leave. The Tradecenter has been kind enough to give us the oppurtunity to use there parking lot. This is a great oppurtunity for us so be on your best behaviour! This means absolutely NO DONUTS, NO BURNOUTS!!! If you see someone acting up, tell them to stop. Tradecenter is open to allowing regular meets to happen on the property, as long as they feel we are responsible enough
Please try and spread the word. The more the merrier! We don't know your friends, your next door neighbours, your co-workers; Reach out to them, invite them, and we can all gather and share in our passion. This event will be advertised in the area and at the office park. The event is RAIN OR SHINE. There is a 5 story parking garage with ample space for hundreds of cars. In the event of rain or snow, we will be meeting inside the garage.
This is across the high way from the Woburn Movie Theatre off exit 35 on 128. From the rotary turn right onto Main St. (Route 38 North). Turn left at first stoplight onto Elm St. Turn left onto Sylvan Rd. and drive past the shopping plaza, then turn right into TradeCenter 128. We will use the part of the parking lot that I highlighted in blue.
forum isnt up yet... some difficulty with my hosting company... the forum is an old Northeast based forum... that shut down a couple years ago... I am trying to get it back up and running
as for the name... it's more of a joke then anything... most of the members of the previous group were very down to earth car guys...
It's still a little too early for Lotus runs with sand still on the roads, I guess the German & Japanese car guys don't realize what sand does to a fiberglass car! :thwack: It's like sandblasting your rockers at best!
I plan on being there whether I bring the Elise or not. For the record, if the Elise stays home, it has nothing to do with the weather. My car is a filthy mess and I don't know if I will have a chance to wash it. It looks like I drove it through Afghanistan.
Seriously? WOW… I’m just BLOWN AWAY at the turn out for this event… I have been trying to figure out what to write to everyone and I’m just flat out speechless. The event was a HUGE success because every one of you who came out. The showing was crazy… from the F430s and Maserati to the VW with the checkerboard hood (dunno who you were, but I like it) to the two NSXs that up till today, I had never seen in person… and all the crazy Subarus(love the sound of a boxer engine)… and the Mazda group who had there **** together at 8am at the movie theatre(I’m impressed how you all were so organized)… you guys made the event happen… Me and Sam just filled in all the details to support it.
Other then a few incidents that I spoke to the officer on detail about, everyone behaved. The lot and garage were left fairly clean and I’m pretty sure everyone enjoyed themselves. I apologize if I didn’t get to meet or talk to everyone… I was spinning in circles bouncing from person to person. We are going to try and get a photo gallery posted up on Yuppieracing.net of the event. And in the coming week or so, will be announcing our events for the next couple months… Events include a Detail Day(seminar), Cars and Coffee, the beginning of AUTOX season and hopefully a descent gathering of cars for Hot Import Nights.
Really, thank you ALL again, and hope to see everyone at the next event!!!
I just wanted to personally thank everyone who came out for Cars & Coffee 2.0. The weather couldn't have worked out better, and the turnout was even larger than expected! Special thanks to Ginny, manager of Dunkin' Donuts. Special thanks to Bill Cummings, Cummings Property, and Cummings employees. Special thanks to the Woburn Police Dept., who were very cool, and even tolerant of some slight misbehavior inside the garage.
Very big special thanks to my counterpart and co-organizer, Mr. Peter Ladas, of yuppieracing.net. Today would not have been possible without all your hard work sir. The Beantown Sound and I look forward to planning many more successful events together with you down the road.
Everyone else...Stay tuned closely! Pete and I have some big ideas in the works for this Spring/Summer. I'd encourage everyone to register on yuppieracing.net where a calendar of events will soon be available! It was great to see some old friends, and make some new ones. See everybody again soon!

...funny, it's absolutely involuntary, but i still see a countach and reflexively think "okay, there's a real exotic, now" - probably the only supercar in recent production which hits me the same way is the gumpert apollo...
Sorry I missed it...I had friends in town who had get on the road in the morning. I did get the car out of storage on Saturday, though. Did some drives over the weekend and then installed the LETSLA short shift kit. Been driving to work all week. She's going into the shop tomorrow to figure out my idle problem...then to the bodyshop shortly thereafter to fix the crack in the rear clam. Definitely will be at the next event!
