Actually I'm picking it up Friday barring any problems with the PDI. Just in time for the weekend and my vacation next week. My wife is going to have to pry me out with a crowbar.

Love the Saffron. It is not "School Bus" as has been suggested. It is a creamy orangy yellow. Love it, honestly. The sport pack looks great. Slightly less gap and ohh those wheels. I did a quick "finger" comparison of the ride heights to a non-LSS and confirmed my impresions. I'd guess 1/2 inch front and back.

I've driven the 111S, non-sport Fed, and should have a good comparison for the LSS this weekend.

Saw your car on Wednesday - it looks great. I really like the LSS wheels in person, and the lower stance is nice. I also liked the window cranks - they look just right - but there was more carpet in your interior than I expected.

We should arrange a back-to-back LSS/non-LSS comparison some day. Have fun with yours (despite the Friday the 13th delivery and flood watch . . .).

According to the numbers that were tossed around, the LSS should only be 5mm (less than 1/4") lower than the regular suspension. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's a very visible difference on such a small car that sits fairly low already.

Also, don't forget that the larger front wheels and tires along with possible differences in the shoulder of the tire can affect this impression. Not to mention the different tire size.

One of the spec lists for the Elise show that the regular and sport wheels have the same offset, 31 mm. Assuming this is correct, then since regulars are 5 1/2 wide and LSS rollers are 6 1/2 wide, and the offset was unchanged, 1/2 of the extra width goes inward and half goes outward. So the LSS wheels stick out about 1/2 inch more than the stock wheels. So the finger between the tire surface and the bodywork is affected.

Just an update.

Mine did come with the removable carpets in the touring package. Not sure why but I'll take it.

The gap difference is more than 1/4 inch. Maybe a result of tire and offset.

Just love the color, Saffron folks will not be disappointed.

I'll have to get used to the attention. My wife was cracking up at the people she observed while foloowing behind me in the Minivan.

Already 75miles on it, just 425 more to go before I open her up.

More on the ride later but just wanted to mention how much pick-up the Elise has on the low Cam at just about any RPM. It is very driveable. Also the clutch is fantastic, I like the engagement and modulation. The brakes take getting used to, as mentioned previously the first inch or two very little happens. The modulation is also great. I was bedding the pads last night with the wife in the passenger seat and she "almost hurled"

BTW, Boston should be getting a couple of cars a week. They are slated to be one of the higher volume dealers. I can't say enough about Pat, Jason, and the rest of the crew. They are going to be great to work with. Jason really knows his stuff, not your average wrench. He is a suspension tuning specialist as well. I was impressed with everyone. They all worked extra hard to get my car ready for Friday. Kirk, the service manager seems great as well. We are lucky to have such a professional qualified group so close. I highly recommend them.

are you talking about the floor mats?

those aren't part of the touring pack--they are standard with all cars.

Funny it was my dealer that suggested they shouldn't be there. Mine was the first LSS so I guess a little confusion is to be expected.
