My wife decided it was time that she got a new car. Since I seem to buy a car every year or so--most of them toys, who am I to say no. She decided on a VW beetle--refered to as a New Beetle by VW fans.

After checking around she decided on the W3 limited edition tripple white. We still can't find the 3rd. white.

So the deal was done pretty painless at VW of Van Nuys, CA.

The next morning I checked the tires and low and behold they're Michelin Pilots and now for the best part---225 45 R17. Yes the same size as the Lotus rear tires.

So at some time, I can always keep a few for an emergency spare tire.

Now I wonder if the spare is the same bolt pattern or I could have an adapter made??

Sorry for you! The VW should be 5 on 100 and the Lotus is 4 on 100. Check your spare, the first new Beetle had Michelin on the ground and Goodyear in the trunk.
