Well guys, I finally did it. Traded in my 2001 V8 for a 2013 Corvette ZO6. All I got to say is OMG!!! This thing is a beast!!! Talk about power and performance. The ride is great and the sound it makes is intoxicating. Took it to the canyons last weekend and it was just awesome on the turns. Stay tuned as I will have tons of parts for sale the next couple of days. Here's some pictures from today. Just gave her a wash.

Traitor!

Great pics until I saw the interior! :)

I'm not a fan of the last gen vettes, but there's no arguing the performance for value.

Enjoy and you are a traitor - did I mention that? :)

Corvettes are interesting animals. For such a long time, they were an engine with seats and a plastic shell loosely attached. Then the C5 came along and made huge strides in performance and quality. Today they are fantastic machines with all the performance and sophistication to match anyone.

But they still have the stigma of years past. They aren't exotics and they aren't supercars even though they have equal performance to such cars. Even though they are better than Vipers in every meaningful way, they still seem to be a peg below. Even the ZR1. I suppose it comes down to price.

It will be interesting to see if the C5-C7 appreciate in price with time as the C1 and C2 have. They certainly deserve to.

Hahahaha...I knew I would catch flack for this. I really did enjoy my Esprit. I fell in love with the ZO6 even way before I bought the Esprit. My buddy had a 2007 and it was sssooooo fast. He was faster than any motorcycle in the canyons and it was bone stock. Well times changed and he traded in his ZO6 for an exige then for a GT3 and now he has an FRS which he uses for daily driving and track days. He told me that the reason he traded in his ZO6 was because he got bored in the canyons. The car did everything for him and he was the fastest thing out there. Either way I know I made the right decision. New car with a factory warantee.

Indeed, nice cars, fast, etc. but I like the "WOW!" factor of the Esprit.. like when driving it on Friday and a car pulled up beside me and took multiple pictures as going down the highway! Doubt that will happen in the vette... Or getting parked out front when go to a restaurant

Congratulations on your Z06, last year at are local track there were two guys with Z06s out on track that dominated the track and had the best track times of the day. both cars were bone-stock except for aftermarket brake pads in and R-compound tires.

I would have no problem or Shame/ owning a Z06.

As stated extremely capable car. Been on the track with a few and like someone else stated usually if not the fastest car out on the track they are very close to it.

Esprit wins in the looks department however for reliability, power, speed, handling etc the zo6 easily wins.

Can't wait to see what gm does with the c7 version of the car
