Looking to buy a new camcorder.

Short list if requirements:
-very compact
-recording media must give me at least 60 minutes of record time.

If you ever want to use a Chase Cam, make sure it's digital.

Make sure it can accept analog inputs. Most Sony and Canons are capable.

I recently bought a Cannon ZR90 (mini dv) from Best Buy for about $500. I picked the Canon because of their lens and compatability with mac osX. You want to get a camera with as high as possibke optical zoom because the digital zoom pixelates things. I seriously considered a DVD unit but they cost nearly twice what a simular minidv cost and had a) less recording time on the media, b) fewer features, c) questionable compatibility with Mac OS., d) weaker lens.

I'm really happy with my Cannon
