Car didn't start this morning

Went to tackle my wiper fluid issue (I think its clogged/sludged) but couldnt get it out of the garage.

Hit the starter button and heard the solenoid clicking noise.

Quickly checked the voltage and I'm in the 11s. Hooked it up to my tender/charger and wonder if I should even take it out today.

its a battery from 2010, autocraft silver, (probably a sucky battery) but I won't be able to source my battery of choice for a few days/a week from my dad's shop.

It has been about 6 days since last driven and I did leave my radar detector plugged in by accident.

Dead battery or drained from radar detector?

Charge it, or get it started and drive it. You should be fine.
Many of us hard wired detectors.

It's neater and detector shuts off with key.

Hide wire in seam between w/s and frame. Mine is at top.

V1 w/remote display and detector is in front of rear view mirror.

Both cars are hard wired and both have mounts.
Mine, too, didn't start this morning, so I jump started with my JNC660 (Jump n Carry battery starter) to go to Irvine Cars and Coffee. It's time for a new one for the 3-4 years old battery.
Battery life is often double when smart chargers are used. 3-4 yrs seems a bit short, no?

IIRC, when we let a regular battery go low enough to require a charge, we lose 20% or so of it's life.
I put it on the charger this morning and it started right up when I got home just now.

Worth replacing the battery anyway?

My dad sells electro battery batteries (deka?) at his Auto Electric store and can get them pretty cheap
how many times has it run to flat?

Yes, pretty cheap is always good.
first time it has run flat,

I came checked the battery twice more after unplugging it from my battery tender/charger, the morning after and then that evening and its hovering around 12.29 volts. I think its time to swap it out.

I expect I should be getting at least 12.6

edit: (Side note) I see some black in the strands at the terminal end, Thinking of recrimping new ends.

Can anyone think of a reason not to?

12.6v after it has been sitting for 12 hours.
Michael
correct. after sitting for 12 hours.

What voltage should a 12V battery give?
while an automotive battery is called a 12volt battery, if it discharges to 12, you're probably cooked.

you want 12.6 or higher voltage at rest

edit- just replaced my battery, will take my car to my dad's shop and replace the terminal ends
