Why would you get two of the same instead of another exotic for change of flavor?

How can you have a car w/o a title if you are not a dealer? Would FVMs sell someone a car w/o a title?

Also, the pictures and verbage relating to the Diablos seemed unnecessary to me.

So, why am I selling this beautiful Lotus Elise? Look carefully in some of the pictures. You'll see my Yellow and my Orange Lamborghini Diablos in the garage. After driving the Lotus, I like the Lamborghini more so the Lotus is for sale.

This car is BRAND NEW. Factory warranty starts when you title the car. The car HAS NOT been TITLED yet! You will be its first owner. You are also responsible for a deposit of $5000 on the car within 2 days of the auction close, and the remainder before shipping or at pickup. The car is located in Sarasota, FL, feel free to come down and take a look. Please have all financing and cash available.

You may reach me at 941-773-7833. This is my cell phone, so please remember not to call before 10am EST or after midnight EST.

The car has no scratches, paint work, body damage, or anything wrong with it. That's because it's barely been driven and is brand new!

I am not a dealer, I am a private individual selling the car. The car originated from Fox Valley Motorcars in Chicago, IL. I'd rather sell the car outright rather than watch bidders, so call if this interests you.

One of my dealers is out of state and offered a no sales tax/ no registration temp paper that would give me 30 days to get back to Calif and pay full Cal sales tax and registration.

Don't know exactly how it works as I don't have a car yet.

I'm in that situation... bought a car in NY that is on its way to CA. Once it gets here I will take it over to DMV to register and pay tax on it. If I wanted, I could flip it without having the tax problem.

I'm pretty sure this is the same guy that posted it for sale on Elisetalk a few weeks ago. If you go to his profile and click on his website it says that he started a dot.com company sold it, and started another one and made about $10 million bucks. Not bad for someone around 30. One Lambo used to belong to Busta Rymes, and I think the other one he previously owned, but I think he was selling or trading in.

Heres the link to the origianl ad

can ebay seller cancel auction for any reason?

The fact that there is no reserve may be another trick of the trade - can't the person take the item off auction at any time (for example, just before the auction ends) for some bogus reason if they think they just didn't get enough for the vehicle?

Also, someone in the forum had a link to autotrader.com (am I remembering correctly?) and some of the highest mark-ups on Elises came from Fox Valley.

something very strange...

So I go to Ebay, as I do often, to check out what the current Elises are going for...and three of the four Elises for sale on Ebay all have the same high bidder!! Now, is this person collecting Elises or are all the sellers (they all say they are from different locations in the US) up to something? They are all adamant about negative feedback for bogus bids so this seems strange.

spoke to the guy again...he does seem like a decent guy but who can tell for sure...he said there isnt a chance in hell the auction will go til the end cause he has many offers at 52K privately so he will most likely end the auction early...we will see though...people say many things but when its time to pony up some dough, different story.

hope the high bidder isnt on this forum but what the heck is he thinking...does he have any idea that if reserve is hit and you are winning bidder you have entered into a binding contract...why would he place himself at the top of 3 auctions unless he was willing to buy all 3 which Im pretty sure he isnt willing to do..

It all seems too sketchy to me, I'm sure something will go wrong with the auction (at the very least it will be ended early).

I have a TON of Ebay experience, and there are so many B.S. auctions on high-dollar items it's ridiculous.

And if this guy is so loaded, why is he spending the time and effort with E-bay. I'd just say, "Jeeves, get rid of this bloody thing for me, and put the money towards a tummy tuck and new set of boobs for my wife."

just an observation from me, and i could be sooooo wrong....
but look at his neighborhood in the background....look at his house, the little bit u see....u can see his neighbors house a bit too....
not that it looks like a bad neighborhood at all, so dont get me wrong, but hardly the neighborhood where u would expect 2 lambos in the garage.

A friend of mine noticed the neighborhood also.

There's a saying "You never know who the milionaire is next door."

The whole thing sounds kindof shady to me based on the conversations and the posting itself. I would find it hard to buy a car off the internet. Knowing my luck, I'd be the example mact333 was referring to!

I'd venture a guess that you could buy any house on that street for the cost of those two Lambos. And don't they look funny stuffed into that tiny garage? Kinda like putting gold fixtures in your outhouse ...

It would be interesting to find out the REAL story there.

How come one of the Lambo's does not have a lic. plate on it.
My guess would be that because sales are so down with the Lambo's they worked it out to give him a deal on the Elise so he could make up the extra he paid on the Lambo. Meantime some Sap got pushed down the line further waiting for the car they put money on two years ago.
I believe that jumping title without paying sales tax is of interest to some authority.
Why would someone need two 6.0's for unless they are selling them also. Do two Lambo's in the garage make that car worth a extra $10k????
